Now that the season is almost over, what do you think of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez now? Did you dislike them at first? Did they grow on you? Or did you love them from the get go? Are do you still dislike them? I think they have really meshed with Randy Jackson and make the best team of judges that American Idol has ever had. I don't miss Paula Abdul at all. She was all fluff. As for Simon, he was interesting, but I like Steven Tyler much better. He's fun and spontaneous! He is also a great music critic. What are your thoughts on the newest judges and how do you like them now?

i didnt really have an opinion about them at first but i do enjoy them as the judges now. the only thing is that jennifer lopez has a favorite and she talks about them all the time and i think she influences the votes a lot but then again it may not have anything to do with her and what she says. i really miss simon myself. idk why tho lol. idol just isnt the same without him. he was very mean at times tho and i am not sure i liked that part but he was alwasy the "voice of reason" and told it like it was. Randy i feel like tries to take his place sometimes with some of the comments he says but then again he does it diffrently (lol if that makes any sence to you) steven tyler was a great pick for the judges tho. he will tell you how it is but hell tell you how to fix it. hell praise you when you deserve it and everything. and yes he is a GREAT "music critic"

I do miss some of Simon's quirkiness if you can understand that. He was what the show was all about when he was a judge. Oh well, move on. We have a good team now. I also agree with what you say about Jennifer Lopez and the way she voices her opinions on her favorites. This should be stopped, as a judge she should remain neutral in opinions and keep her personal favorite(s) to herself.

he really was what the show was all about when he was a judge lol i am glad someone else agrees with that because someone i was talking to told me that that is what the judges are for. i mean its ok to say i liked that but at one point with Joshua she said "america dont send this boy home, please vote for Joshua, dont send him home". i dont know if you remember this but i thought that was a little messed up and unfair to the other contestants. the judges have a right to like who they want but in the end it is up to america and the judges are there to help them get better and give advice. their personal opinions should not be allowed in like you said but i guess there really is nothing they can do about that.

I suppose that this problem will not be corrected if the show doesn't know how we feel about it. Maybe the media will hit on it and expose it and cause an uproar. We can sit back and then say, "I said that way back when!"

I do not like Steven and Jennifer. Steven and Jennifer may be good music critics but they cannot replace Simon and/or Paula. They were and are still people's people.

Everyone has their favorites but since American Idol is a show to judge the music abilities of the contestants, the judges should have music experience and/or background. We all have our favorites. Personally, I don't miss Simon that much. As for Paula, good riddance!! She had nothing worthwhile to say at all and said the same thing over and over and over again. It was time for Paula Abdul to get the boot so to speak.

Let me add this too. A reality show on TV may not be all about how good your pitch is, how good you are good at the instruments, how good you are with your melody and how well you actually perform with the choir groups. When you compare about the music abilities of Simon and his whole good Ol' team with the new Steven's team, I agree, but I'd voice my opinion that American Idol is a "pop Show". Here your votes count the most.. I mean what was Simon before? lol...Nevertheless, Paula Abdul?..her choreographs may have been good. However, I'd say that any reality shows on TV can still be popularized indirectly via judges images and who they are in reality.. I still listen to Aerosmith's records, may worship their music and am still be a fan of Aerosmith. However, he and J.Lo being an American Idol judges may have been a mistake?

Sorry if you like the new judges now, and I'm glad if you can still like the show, but for me, my opinion is that I stopped watching all together once Simon left. To be honest, I remember the beginning of the first series where they showd how harsh and cruel he was to the people that weren't good and I just thought it was halirous. I watched most of the episodes of every season until he left, then I felt it was more of a contest, and the majority of the harsh humor was gone. It's still there and a little different, but it doesn't seem as funny to me anymore. Still, have fun with the show, I know lots of people still like it, but for me, I just have to say, "Simon, you will me missed. Rest in that other show that you went to instead". I remember hearing that he went to the X-Factor, but I'm not sure.

Yes, Simon Crowell is over at X-Factor, another show he created. I've watched it a few times, but I can't get into it like American Idol. I still prefer it even though Simon is gone. I think the judges were pretty harsh this year with the contestants in the very beginning. It took awhile for them to mesh or bond, but now they work well together and do their fair share of letting the contestants down when necessary.

jennifer lopez is much better choice as a judge that simon cowell. simon was just too much and too harsh. any one who thinks he is good as a judge does not have much concern over the feelings of the contestants that was harshly criticized. although when he compliments a contestant he does it well also. but it does not justify the harsh words he gives to the contestants from time to time.

Most people either love or hate Simon Cowell. You have to take him with a grain of salt.

I have always liked both Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler even before they became American Idol judges. More so, when I found them to be good judges who tried their best not to be overly critical even for the contestants who didn't have any singing talent. I was not so appreciative of the way Simon would give the disparaging remarks. It was so cruel and makes one lose self esteem and confidence. The contestants may have some bit of a talent but they were scared to sing and give their best in front of the whole world and the judges at that. it also makes one think twice before joining idol for fear of Simon's reaction but that is Simon and that is why he has remained popular because he does not mince words. I have always like Randy Jackson and it seems to me that the 3 judges complemented each other. Jennifer Lopez just looks so beautiful.

Tyler, Lopez and Jackson have come together to form a great team of judges. I think they work very well together and as you say they compliment each other.

I have always liked Steven Tyler, and I was so excited when I found out he was going to be a judge. I expected him to be very off the wall, so I was really surprised when he turned out to be very down to earth.

I like the changes. I actually had stopped watching the show way way back because of the meanness and not just Simon. Randy & Paula would break up into laughter at some of the contestents which too me just seemed mean and unprofessional. I just recently tuned back in and was pleasantly surprised. I've always been a huge Steve Tyler fan anyway. He's honest in his critisism but delivers it with kindness and class. JLO sometimes gets carried away and goes on and on but I think she is fair. Randy is a bit harsher but not in a cruel way. I think they are a good team. In the end, the judges are there to help the contestents improve and I think they do a good job in that.

In the beginning, I thought that Idol was going to be less interesting without Simon. I missed him but I have really grown to prefer the new group of judges. I think that Steven and Jennifer are doing a great job and work very well with Randy and other members of the Idol staff. I am really enjoying the new judges and the newish format.

I have been watching American idol for quite some time now. I have seen the judges change a couple of times. I have enjoyed the new judges. I think Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez are great! I think replacing Paula Abdul was a great move and has improved the feel of the show and the overall quality. I give American Idol a thumbs up for changing the judges and improving the program.
