Bloggers, if they have some good strategies can help themselves with their posts ready by thousands of people. The more your posts are read by others the more income opportunity you can derive from your blog. By way of writing sponsored posts, advertisements etc., a professional blogger can a decent income from his or her blog. I feel self hosted blog are really required on a professional blogging aspect. That shows you are serious in your blogging, because you pay money for your hosting. There are some strategies for increasing the traffic too. Many blogs get no comments because they lack a good commenting system. A good commenting system installed in your blog could bring more comments to your blog. Intense Debate is a good commenting system for that purpose. CommentLuv is a word press plugin that'll display the last post of the person who puts the comment along with the comment. This will encourage more people to give good comments. What are your outlook on becoming a professional and well known blogger?

Blogging is really good, if you have an interest or hobby then why not share it with other people and if you could get paid for it then why not. People like Perez Hilton has made a career of the back of professional blogging.

I do have a default commenting system but still I got a tons of comment, guess I'm lucky to have readers. You are right when you are not updating your blog, it is more unlikely to get an attention and a possible reader. Try to submit your content in Stumbleupon, digg and FB to get a possible visitors. Try also to joined group so that each of you can exchange comment and exchange syndication.

I receive lot of comments to my blog, but most of them are spam. I also submit my blog to social networks, but compared to search referral, the traffic from social networks is negligible. I know commentribe in facebook is doing comment exchange. Are you aware about networkedblogs application in facebook? It's a real source of decent traffic. Do you know any social networks that facilitates comment exchange or syndication?
