I am only posting again as the picture didn't show up in the first discussion I posted. Just so Mylot and every one else knows.... Well I finally finished the Strawberry Shortcake quilt. I learned alot and even learned that you don't have to stay in the box...look at the picture... the bottom 2 rows of squares. I had them alternate back and forth..thinking that was the best. However, now that I see the mistake I made when I lined them up wrong... right there in the front where the pink squares on each row seperate the white/red squares as they do... I really like that layout better than the one I made! I wish I had seen that when I was assemblying it. So...moral of the story and something I am trying to learn to do....think outside the box! And mistakes.. are not always a mistake! What do you think? Also did some top stitching: stippling and meandering... that was fun!

I have to say I like the corner pieces that match that you fussy cut to have the strawberries. I think it adds a really nice touch!

Thanks! I didn't know they were called "fussy cut" until I saw that on Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day.. I wondered what she was talking about and then when I saw I said.."no biggie.. I been doing that for years!" I used to applique mostly when I made quilts...need to do that again! I wanted more SS on it, but this is all I could come up with. THe little corners were to have her more in the design

Oh I think it was just enough. Little can be more sometimes. I did a window quilt that I fussy cut and although I loved the look I hated the waste.
