My "Fiona" hands and "Shrek" legs - c/o myLot

I've been having edema on my hands and legs, for 3 months now. Edema, or swelling of hands or legs due to water retention, is common in pregnancy. There is no cure, but to wait until delivery. The only way to relieve you from the discomfort it brings, is to elevate your legs, do some stretching, and drink more water (ironic). Since I got hooked on myLot, it got worse, because it doesn't bother me much while I'm enjoying every minute I spend on here. But, when I get up to take a leak or get something, that's when I feel my "fiona" hands and "shrek" legs swelling. Still, at times, I don't mind it, and just continue posting away like nothing happened. I don't know if I should be happy about this, that myLot took my attention away from the many discomforts I have with my pregnancy blues. I hope I'm not abusing my body too much so as not to affect the baby inside.

Well at least you won't be bothered by worrying the changes of your body and other discomforts since you are occupied with something else. Then anyway stocking in mylot all day long will have other benefits as well.. During the time when I was pregnant I did not have the edema while still pregnant. My edema starts two days after I gave birth.I was not worried much with that since I was still in the hospital that time, we were not yet discharge because my baby was born during the eighth months of pregnancy.

Yeah, that's a positive way of looking at it. I just hope this doesn't have much negative effects - apart from back pains and too much swelling of my legs and feet due to long hours of sitting.

hi jureathome I was just remembering the summer i had the shingles and how I mylotted all day as I was retired and nothing to do but mylot,. the thing is that the little nerve zaps you get that make shingles so painful were relieved simply by my getting so busy typing responses I really did not feel them. When I went to bed I had to lie on my left side so they would not hurt plus take a lot of ibuprofen too.but my lot sure saved me from a lot of pain as I got engrossed in what I was doing and I really did not feel it nearly so bad. as long as you get up and move around occasionally you should not be too hard on the baby.drinking water does really help although of course you will be running to the bathroom a bit more. I hope you do not have high blood pressure along with the edema.Oddly thats the one time I did not have edema in my legs was when I was pregnant. But I did have h igh blood pressure which was a worry. Now today I have carpal tunnel in my right hand and right now it really is hurting. Not much can be done for it but grin and beare it. lol

My blood pressure is fine, though. My doctor monitors that regularly because I'm really gaining weight fast in this pregnancy. The carpal tunnel syndrome is also a worry. I hope I don't catch that, due to excessive myLotting. I'm really not very conscious of my posture when I'm in front of teh PC, and when I get so engrossed in doing something.
