Playing with my son

I love spending time with my 4 year old son and playing with him, even though he gets on nerves with his whining. My brother told me that I should really treasure and enjoy the time spent with my son when he's young, because he'll be too busy to spend time with you when he gets older and have his own friends. I don't know if that's true or not. I think it all depend on you raise your child when they're young. Either way I really enjoy spending quality time with him, even if it's play pretend or watching tv, it'll put a smile on my face because if he's happy then I'll be happy. Last night, I stayed up until 3 am to help him build the Lego cars. Even though I was really tired, I was really happy and knew everything was worth it when I see his reaction this morning when saw those cars. He said, "Thank you mommy" and gave me a big kiss.

I think your brother is right,Spend as much time with him as you can.Because as time goes, you will have less and less time to do so.And you will regret not spending more time with him.And make him feel that you love him a lot. This is what a kid needs more than anything from his mother/parents.If you give him all your love now, then he will also love you for the rest of your life.

True, children needs the loving affection from their parents more than anything, it'll help children to become better people as they grow up.

My children are currently 2 and 11 months and I couldn't agree more with the fact that just looking at them puts a smile on my face. I love you added in your post that sometimes he gets on your nerves. I heard my 2 year old tell the baby that he was "driving him crazy". It made me laugh so hard because I realize how often I say that to my kids. But as much as they drive me nuts, I wouldn't trade in one second with them. I don't know if they will have this relationship with me or not when we are older, but I know that I won't regret any time I spend with them now!

I totally agree, I always at my son and I will have a heart-warming smile on my face. My son means everything to me, although he drives me crazy sometimes. I will not give up on spending quaility time with him. The kisses and hugs from him outweighs all his whining and crying.

Each time when I get home from work, I call my 3.5 year-old son at the gate. His first reaction is to rush all the way for me to hold him high enough to have a look at the small river outside our apartment. He is crazy about it and before I go to work, he insists on my doing the same thing again. I love to see the excitement on his face and the real action that he runs all the way to me. It makes me feel very happy about it. Also sometimes when I am free, I will take him and my wife for a ride or for a walk. It is a wonderful feeling to be with my son and my family after work and on weekends. Take care, Kat.

When I come home from work and I'm really tired, seeing my son greet me at the door will make me not as tired and gives me motivation to work hard. I enjoy spending my days off with him :)

Our children are the best things that will ever happen to us during the course of our lives, and we should never take for granted the short time that they are young enough for us to play games with. I know that a lot of people spend their children's early years working hard trying to make ends meet at home, and then they regret missing out on some of the most important moments of their child's life. If you are there for your child and play with them all the time, then at least you'll know that you're never going to regret missing out on anything as he was growing up.

Playing with our children is really a big worth and could take out pain and stress. If we saw them happy and watch them learn and grow makes us proud. Most of all, whenever we hear the words "I love you" or "thank you", it melts our hearts knowing that they did grow with proper guidance. I always look forward onto playing with my 2 year old kid every day. :)

Dear Sis Kat Love is not selfish. Love is kind. Love is giving. These are the motto that I live by. What you do is that you must find satisfactions. From your comments it appears that you are just as happy as your son. What really maters is how is your feeling at that time of rejoice with your kid. Believe me, only you and you alone will experience the degree of happiness you have. No one can tell you. Believe me again, as a grandfather, what we do and work for is to attain happiness. Money, wealth, gold or anything else don't buy happiness. It's your attitude that what you do is to have the right attitude of joy and contentment. Trust me. For now this is my take. OK? Thanks! Love: Bro. Joe. GBU

I do think that we should enjoy spending time with our children as much as possible, because they grow up way too fast. Even if you spend a lot of time with your child(ren) and raise them right, they will still eventually pull away from you to spend more time with their friends - it is the natural progression of life. Of course, that does not mean that they will not want to do things with you and spend time with you, but it just will not be as often as it is now. In fact, I believe that is one of the signs that you did raise them right, when they can let go and start becoming their own individual beings yet still include you in their life.
