I think facebook games are addictive!

Lately, I have noticed that I am playing facebook games several times every day. I am practically logged in to facebook constantly when I have my computer on, and most of the times I also check the progress of my favourite games and I receive and send gifts to my friends. Currently, the ones that I like the most are The Sims, Castleville, MonsterWorld, CityVille and Hidden Chronicles. Even though I believe that facebook games are not something special in terms of graphics and game capabilities, sometimes I find myself addicted to them. I have thought that this addiction might happen because of the fact that they are based on interaction with others, so the progress of the game depends on the fb friends and additionally there is the tendency to compare the game progress with my friends, therefore sometimes I even login more to pass the level and compete with them. What is your experience with facebook games and apps?

Yeah Facebook games are very addictive. I use to social city and I could not stop playing that game. I had to get more home and make more cities and be the biggest and I couldn't help myself. The only reason I stopped playing is when I though about buying credits to get a shop. After I almost put in my credit card info I was like this has to stop I am going cold turkey.

That is the problem with fb games, if you want to grow fast the easy way is to pay and buy some creadits. And I guess that if you start buying stuff with real money then you can't stop. On the other hand, if you resist the temptation as you said, the game becomes very slow and you get bored.

Yeah very true and that is happen I didn't want to pay real money to buy a school or dress or fram animal. I really coundn't move up in level like I wanted to so I stopped. I do miss them because I spent a lot of time on them but it's ok at least with sites like this I earn money.

Yeah the same here. I am too addicted in facebook games always. Later I find the way to manage it. Just find simple ways to get the sharing and I controlled myself to play the games in particular time only. Because of it I have reduced my playing time.

It's very good that you can organise your time! When I start playing a new game I find it exciting and it's harder to control the time that I spend on it! Thank you for sharing!!

I have a control in it not to start a new game at any time. It is the reason to play the game in limited time.

My partner is passionate about Puzzled Hearts on Facebook and plays several times a day. Sure, it is an addiction but a harmless one. I think it is the social component that makes Facebook games so addictive. Playing games on Facebook is almost like an alternate reality that people can escape to. As long as someone's real life is not deteriorating from playing these games, really, what is the harm?

It fun to play on facebook, and if you have one game that you like there is no harm! But if you are playing 5-6 games at the same time, it means that you need to spend several hours to progress with them. This is when the addiction should be limited and it needs some effort to understand and get over it!

Facebook games are really addictive and good to waste your time if you have nothing serious going on in your life at the moment, the moment you got something going on for you, you ll leave facebook games asap! I once used to be addicted to mafia wars, but when I saw that people are making million from spending time online and am just moving from one game level to the next, I had to change my orientation towards time spending online, its better to spend time making money online than some lousy game.

For me Facebook games felt very addictive. I love to spent time for playing games on Facebook. Months before I played a game known as Farm ville. I loved to play it. It is just simple play but I got addicted to it and I took many months to detach from it.

Yeah that tis really true... I think the games were really fun in facebook... But i do not get addicted to these online games because i would play them for a while but would eventually get bored hehe i still prefer games downloaded to my phone. This is because i do not need to be online right away.

You're very right when you say that the games on Facebook are addictive, and I sometimes find myself spending several hours at a time on the games without even realising that I had been online for that long during the course of the day. The trick it to limit yourself to maybe half an hour per day where you should let yourself check your accounts for various online games if you should choose to do so. Once you have spent this amount of time, you should then close Facebook down and get on with the things that you really do need to get completed during the day. There is very little chance that you would be able to be productive if you're playing games all day, so it is well within your best interests to limit yourself to just a short time on the game each day.

I'm afraid that half an hour per day will not be enough for me at first, but I will try to control it! Thank you :)

I've never been into the games. But the quizzes and the "Find out what kind of ice-crea you are" etc. stuff are addictive for me. They require less effort :D.

I used to take a lot of tests/quizzes, Especially when we had the "old" facebook profile. They were very popular and fun! Now I believe they are promoting games more because they can have profit from them. Personally, even though I enjoy playing games, I have never spent money on any kind of game to buy points etc. Thank you for your response!
