I have no idea if my articles move up the search engines. I do not think that i really care. I enjoy getting my articles published and earning a little money from them. But, it is a lot of work to write and publish articles. I signed up with many sites including hub pages. I have had no success with hub pages. The sites that I have chosen to stay with are Yahoo Voices, Triond and Helium. My favorite was Yahoo Voices but I have been having a lot of trouble getting my articles published since the site went from Associated Content to Yahoo Voices. I have my best views on this site but since December, it has been difficult for me to get the site to publish my articles. You might look into Yahoo Voices. You might have some success with them. I suggest that you choose a site. Stick with one site at a time and get 100 or so articles on it. You will make some money that way -- maybe not a lot, but some.

Even when Yahoo Voices will publish an article, it takes them forever to approve it. I much preferred the Associated Content system of page views only equals immediate approval. It is heard to write anything newsworthy when it takes a week for the article to be approved. *sigh*

I feel very frustrated with Yahoo Voices because some of my published articles are doing well as far as views. But I am having trouble getting more article published. Who are these editors? My articles are declined and reasons given sometimes do not even make sense. Sometimes, I have the option to edit but I do not understand what the problem is. I can not write back to the editor and I find the writers' forum not easy to navigate.

In a nutshell, an article earns as much as you allow it to earn. It goes without saying that if your articles are not good, they won't buy it, and your earnings go down instead of up. Each site has its own particular groove. You have to visit all of them, submit some articles, and see which ones are successful. But no matter who you write for and what you write, if it is not new information, if the article is not well enough written and free from errors, is uninteresting, you will not earn anything at all. Those are good sites you mention; you should find one of them at least interesting to you. I don't know Infobarrel so I cannot comment. But Bukisa is easy to write for and all my articles for them have been approved.

riempie9 welcome to mylot, I see that you are a professional writer with a number of projects under your belt, very impressive. What brings you to mylot? I agree with you that whatever you write, if it's not fresh just some rehash subject or topic, no one is going to read it. I want to start writing for passive income before I jump full force into article writing for the web. I think this will help me to develop the skills that it will take to be successful in web copy. And by the way I joined infobarrel friday, I think that it's a good site to get ones feet wet.

Hi, that will depend on many factors. For example, the keyword that you choose, and the site that you have posted the content. Those articles in Triond will not get good ranking again, since Triond is in a kind of sandbox. Another factor is the content itself. Celebrities news do not attract page views over the longer term. If you are writing evergreen content, and with a keyword phrase that is very unique, the page views will remain constant.

It depends, especially, if you are expanding or just relying on articles for writing and earning. I have been writing articles for quite some time but I learned to expand once in a while so that i can have a range of skills. If you believe that you can take the pressure of writing another form, why not try and see i you can fit in? The estimation of how much an article cost depends on you and your client. It's a negotiation process and sometimes, you can increase over time. Also, it depend on the topic and the research. Of course, you don't be paid if you didn't write because you simply can't find information about it.
