I shared the problems of power cut when it started a few months back. Now I must report that for the last three day there has been no power cut because wind energy generation has improved a lot in Tamil Nadu.
pl read the report:

I cannot say firmly that there will not be any power cut but it is a happy thing and I thought it fit to share with mylottians.
Of course, this is nothing for people in USA, UK and other power rich countries where they do not face power cuts.

That some good news for Chennai people, I have stayed in Chennai for around 2 years, I know how 2 hours powercut in day time can become horrible.
With the wind power generation it seems a little bit of satisfaction to people in Chennai, but I didn't know in Chennai district there was 10 hours powercut ....

welcome to mylot. yes. suburbs of chennai have more power cut. Chennaites are slightly better placed in this regard.
Thanks to wind energy we are now having comparatively less power cut. today we had power cut for 90 minutes only. But mettur thermal plant there is some problem. we are told that that will be sorted out by 27th. let us hope for the be
st.

But we people in Kerala need to face them. We usually need to face about 30 minutes of power cut every day. I think you people are very lucky.

WONDERBOY;
It is not that power cut is not there. the duration has come down. Now recently in Mettur thermal plant there are some repairs and on account of that we are not getting 840 MW. Again to compensate this some power cut is restored.
But wind mills are providing good amount of energy to Tamilnadu energy grid.

Yeah I'm very happy for that! Last week when I was at home, I was very much happy as we had power continuously for a day!!
This is really a very bad situation.... Though we are learning to adapt to less power situation, and thereby will reduce our usage even during the availability of sufficient power, this is not right.. Many are getting affected badly. Especially students, elderly people, working people and women. Women have to wait for the power near the switch board and once it comes, have to do all the mixing and grinding work as soon as possible before power suddenly goes off... elderly and working people are badly affected. They need fans and television to take rest and relax. Without fans they are suffering like anything, especially during night time. Adding fuel to this burning situation, now summer has started!!
Students are the worst affected. They lack proper sleep due to frequent power cuts. Also, during study time power cuts cause serious trouble to them. This should all be stopped! Government must provide loans for installing Solar power systems. If not for everyone, at least to government employees who can afford to pay the loan back on monthly installments. Else, government can provide solar panel systems to government employees on request, and take money from their salary on a monthly basis....

Jevendiran:
Thanks for the response. You have rightly stated that students are most affected on account of this power crisis.
Today there was power cut for one hour. I think situation will improve further in the days to come.
However voltage has been less for the last three or four days.
