The filipino soaps are full violence and lots of cryings and i don't think than any person can experience so much bad luck in such a short time. Like all the difficulties in life has been experienced by the lead actor on the story. i don't think that it is possible that a person can experience so many things as the story we see in soaps. Although there are some soaps that are almost realistic but many of them somehow starts good but would just have some element that makes it too impossible or unrealistic.

i agree with you. its already overacting and exaggerated to the point that is becoming unbelievable. frankly speaking they even promote evilness, how could you imagine two siblings killing each other. yes, fight among siblings often occur but it is rarely lead to killing each other or deceiving each other.

Korean soap opera almost the same as you were stating. Most Korean soaps are very sentimental and lots of unhappy series. Its like most of the leading actress or actor are suffering from diseased. And that makes the soap so much sadness. Love with unhappy ending.I'm so tired watching every time I will guess its the same ending. I hope it will be more realistic next time so the viewers will enjoy more and never guess its ending!

Ah well it depends about the culture altogether... And people watching the show's preference.. Of course if series shown are of some sort... Then people either watch it or not would be depending on stats...we should then know if this will probably the trend people will hear or say.

You're definitely right. Most of the Filipino soaps is so annoying it's just that you know their plot and you can predict their endings. How I wish that there will be a change when it comes to our Filipino dramas.

Haha! I'm laughing at myself right now for misinterpreting the title. Thought this was about soap bars. When you mean soap operas. lol. Anyway, I like "Kaytagal Kang Hinintay" right now, and I try to watch it whenever I have time.

I'm a avid fan of soap and I can say I'm addicted to it. All the above sentiments are true and I also observed that. But since I was enjoying my time watching them it gives me entertainment I don't have problem with it. I still have the choice to watch if I want and If I don't want. As for me It's not a waste of time watching them it's part of my life everyday.

Though you meant soaps like the bath soaps, clothes soap and the like.. My bad.. yes, I agree, most of the soap operas are already unrealistic especially when the soap goes on for a few months. I used to watch these soaps before when I was still able, but now, since I work on PM shift, I really don't have any time to watch these. I prefer networks to have soap operas that doesn't run too long so it doesn't keep boring in each episode and we get to see fun and exciting stuff every day. But, nah, I don't care about it anymore since I really don't have time to watch them.

Why, that is my sentiment too. I really hate many filipino soaps or drama series. Besides the story being so predictable, the characters are always agitated, always problematic. It is really heavy. I stop watching them as I feel they transfer their negative emotions to me every time I watched them. I even wonder who are those who really like watching these filipino telenovelas. For that reason, I always avoid these shows and prefer to watch foreign shows because they do better and more worthwhile to watch.

I am not a fan of soap operas and very seldom do I watch any of the TV dramas no matter who is in the lead role. During the impeachment trial, I would religiously watch it daily. While there is no impeachment to watch right now, I watch Channel 41, 23 or 11. I also find the game shows quite fun. I am so "baduy". I like watching TV after a day's work but not the soap operas because it is so stressing. I want something that will make me happy and not something that will add to my worries and sorrow. I also like the news on TV especially since, I can't buy newspapers daily.

I think you should be get used to it. I guess every soaps has its own exaggeration on its plot and it doesn't only occurred in Filipino soaps that we all know that will never happen in reality.

I agree with you, and I think most of the soap operas has ridiculous plots and sometimes, no plot at all. But I'll say the violence had been adapted from the South Americans' (like Marimar etc.), it's also irks me a lot whenever I see those kissing scenes. Can't they tone it down a little? There are kids watching tv. And I really don't understand why the writers and producers seems not to notice these things at all.
