I use Kaspersky 8 -9- 10 now 2012 (never had any problem, it detects the virus right after the last keystroke ), but antivirus may not be your problem, you have to be clear what symptoms your computer shows.

I haven't used AVG, my friends who has used it say it's worthless. My suggestion got for Avast free antivitus, which I believe is better than AVG as of the free antivirus. So download Avast antivirus, after installing Avast give the boot time scanner which is a good utility, boot time scan does scanning just after the logo of windows highlights and does find major virus is if infected ...

Hi Doro, I often change my antivirus for a month.Any antivirus installed more than 1 month on my computer could cause problems. It causes some update problems even though I turned off the updates.I use Avast,AVG and Avira as antiviruses for my computer.I used to download new versions for a trial and uninstall them.I suggest that you need to replace the antivirus often so that they could not cause any problems on your computer. That's how it works for me.Have a good day.

This can happen if you are using a slow internet connection. This happened when my broadband connection was lost and i tried to update my antivirus by connecting it to my phone to the computer and accessing the internet through it. And i am using Kaspersky internet security 2012 now.It is really good. And it doesn't slow down my system.

I used to use AVG in the past, but had the same problem that it wouldn't update anymore. I got rid of AVG and decided to try another free antivirus called Avast. It's been working like a charm so far without any problems.

previously i was used avg 2011, avg 2011 is still good for user general purpose and is still good enough to overcome some virus. To further, i need to get new anti virus, i am choose avast free version 6, instensity and toughness of this antivirus is no doubt, and the plenty of features - powerful features that we can get from it. may be a good comparison for you dude....

I have tried many and my two favorites are Avast and Avira. I like Avast for it's pre-boot scan feature which allow you to scan your files before loading up your operating system. I have used Avira for a long time as well, and so far it has protected my PC from unwanted things plus it's also easy to use. Your problem could be caused by a lot of other things aside from virus infections. There are ways to find out about it, through research or maybe from friends who have good knowledge of this things. It's best to use available and free resources.

I'm using the AVG too for some years now. I think that all antivirus programs are more or less the same, if you are meant to get a virus then you will, your main concern is to have a light antivirus and avg is a light one :)

If you're looking for a really good antivirus software I'd really recommend you Avira free - it's free and in a lot of cases it beats even the paid competition. Try it and see the result, but remember that there isn't perfect antivirus, but better try it first. Avira is my choice of Antivirus, but if you need paid antivirus ESET NOD32 is a good choice - I've tested it and the results I got were really impressive. :)

I think avg antivirus is good- we used it before.. But now I have Avira- i think it is doing okay. it may be your computer that has the problem- how old is it? Maybe your hard drive is small so it can only process a few programs..?

if you are in Windows platform and if you are using genuine version of Windows, then try Microsoft Security Essential, I have been using it from last two years. I didn't faced any problem from then. It is simple you don't need to do anything just install and stay relax. I have recommend this to my school computer teacher and now he is using this MSE in overall systems.

I used to use AVG antivirus fro my computer but it is not strong enough to kill virus then i changed it. Right now i use ESET NOD32, it seems ok. I haven't detected any virus on my computer since i used it. You can try.
