If there's a perfect definition of overwork; That's going to be me for this week. I feel exhausted. Ti really sucks when it happens to get transition schedule from the morning shift to the grave yard shift. I have having lack of sleep and such. It also disrupts my eating sched. And this is the first time I felt so tired for the entire four months; I haven't experienced it even before when I have multiple tasks at hand. How do you handle your fatigue from overwork. I'm about to blow up my system here. I need to know your best practices. Can you share me some?

Sadly I don't really have any answers. Until Feb of this year I was insanely overworked, and stressed, and at a breaking point. Nothing I did ever seemed to ease the stress and exhaustion of my job. I was weary to my bones, and coudln't sleep because of work related stress so that made it worse. In Feb the company made me part time and cut my pay....after having worked for them 6 years. That was the only thing that helped the exhaustion. The stress is still there, but its a different stress now, the stress of wondering how to pay bills since I'm working less.

That's really nice. Hope I could get a part-time job which pays you as much as full time as well. And not to mention that the company DID valued you a lot. Imagine; working for 6 years and counting. Then you're so eligible of a lot of company benefits ^_^-)~Love it!! Please do let me know more on how you're enjoying your work part-time. I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

Whoah?! I thought you still have those benefits even that you're just working aprt-time. Come to think about it, it's the health and well-being of a person that counts. That's what more important than money. And the most important is if you enjoy your work then you'll never feel or get tired doing it because you do love it and it's worth doing it. I preety much understand whare you're coming from. So much for work; what's good is you have plenty of times to do more and enjoy it a lot. Just like mylotting. Bet you also love it, too. Happy mylotting!

They didn't value me that much. When they made me part time I lost most of my pay and ALL of my benefits. Only working part time is awesome, because I get a little more time to myself, and a little more time with my son. The lack of money from it, however, is just as stressful as if I were still working too much.

When you're in the graveyard shift and have to sleep in the daytime, try simulating the night time my sleeping with something covering your eyes. It is the dark that helps the body heal itself when we sleep at night. Just some advice I heard from a doctor who practices holistic medicine. Last January, I worked 9 hours in a day office (8 am -5 pm) and another 8 hours in a night office (10 pm to 6 am). People wonder how I did it, I wonder, too. But I remember a lot of napping during work (of course during legally permissible times like lunch breaks). It helped compensate the lack of sleep.

I really find it weird. For the past years I can bear it. Must be signs of aging! Hahhaah.. I find it really tiring to be in this shift lately. I'm trying to get this shift due to my other work availabilty. I ahve to work hard though; could be that I need more breaks and leaves. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this. Hope to hear more about your thoughts here in mylot ^_^-)

when i use to work, one of the things i use to do when i feel like i can't handle it is come up with a good excuse to take time off. here in the states, that's the only way that you could do it, because we don't get may vacations here. other than that, work is a big trap that once it gets you, that's your life. you have to submit. the other thing i recommend is to get sleep every time you can get it. this means that life will be work and sleep, work and sleep. i know how that is. perhaps you may want to switch your shift back to the day time. tell your boss you don't think you will be able to perform your best for the company working nights. if it is only temporary, just stick it out. time and your schedule will normalize, so will your body to the change. take alot of bee pollen. this is an natural energizer and anti aging.

Hahaha.. I totally agree on whay you said that "work is a total trap in life"; as if it is such a ratrace to be trapped in employment. I'm trying to catch more zzz's lately but I'm ending up dizzy because it is not for straight 8 hours and such. It is liek eevry 2 hours I wake up which I find it really disturbing lately unlike before; I have this so called "hibernate" in which I sleep for straight 12-14 hours as my body tries to cope up with lost sleeps. I'll check out for bee pollen. Thanks a lot. Like a normal US employee who has multiple jobs; I have to make it up for those lost energy by working too much.

Give yourself a break. There is nothing wrong if you will file a vacation leave. Take some time to rest for it is your own body who is at risk. Over-stress at work sometimes can lead you to sickness. And I bet you do not like to get sick for that matter. We all experience stress at work and one way coping is to get yourself a break and have some fun!

I can't get a vacation leave yet. I haven't been regularized yet here at my present work. I've just left my previous work in which I got a lot of vacation leaves and such (I travel in certain areas as my getaway leisure) But if ever I will file my first leave; I'll try to unwind and catch more sleep. Thanks for your advice. I really appreciate it. Take care as well ^_^-)
