Being a part of a fast-paced world, we undergo a lot of stress. Age is not an excuse, for even the youngest generation are faced with it. We experience it at all places, though at times we only think about it as a part of the situation, we never notice it is already stress. Like for an instance, for the young ones, they could be stressed with their, school, professor, classmates, their home works, and school activities, they have peer pressure and most all the family expections. Then let's go to the adults, which is typically a part of the working age,you might be stressed out with your boss, your work mates, your proposals or presentations, the deadline for your projects that has to be me. At home, you have your spouse, your parents, siblings, children, and others especially when you are living with your relatives. There are different types of stress: emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. How long can a person handle situations, when it comes to it's peak? What are the things to be remembered and must be done to overcome it?

well for me it all broke down like this, i was graduating high school and after being accepted to a really good out of state school things happend and I had to stay in the state i wasnt moveing so then i had to sign up and get accpeted at last minuite to get into community college which i got in then i packed all my classes in two days a week because, i had to drive an hour to get there and it was high ways and things i wasnt used to, while doing all this i was working part time at a grocery store that got busy at some times and it wasnt real big so most days we only had 2 or 3 people working and we had other things to do like cleaning as well as runing registers. And around the same time all this was going on, on my way home from work one night i got hit by a deer which put my car in the shop for 3 to 4 weeks and a bill that i couldnt pay luckly i got some help with that. during all this and all the stress building up i ended up having my first panic attack at work and at the time we didnt know what was going on, i was in and out of the doctors being tested for all kinds of things and the attacks were only getting worse. when they finally discoverd what was going on i was put on medicine and i go to a consler as well. I am now after 8 months starting to recover but, i still have spells of anxiety around crowds and things. I also, havent drove since all this because, i had a few close calls that i felt like i was going to pass out and it really scared me.

surely it was a very stressful event that you had been through as I have read your response. So can you tell me, as of now, with your continuous recovery, how do manage to avoid or at least manage the stress, in every place you go or in everything you do? as you were taking this medicines, does it affect your daily activities as an individual, or is it just like the way how you live your life before?

to be completely honest i still struggle, I go out to store and things at times of the day i know are less crowed, i have to constantly tell myself i am fine and its silly i cant do what i used to do all the time. sometimes it works sometimes not when its not working i get out as soon as i can and take some deep breaths and calm myself down. when i first started the meds the doctor said flat out give it at least a month because, many people will feel worse before better which happend to me. that month was really hard i could hardly leave my house, most days i would wake up and feel completely sick to my stomach and lightheaded, the first week i could hardly even walk striaght and i couldnt really even do my daily rountine stuff. I only did what i absoulty had to. it makes me feel better when i am out now but it took alot to get to this point llike i said i try to advoid crowds and such. i dont live at all like i used to but, its little by little getting better.

good to know that although you have been struggling, little by little you are trying to fought back so that you can live an normal life like what you use to have before. It will indeed take longer than we can imagine, but good thing is that you will soon see a better result. And further, you'll be able to enjoy what you have to do without any worries. I hope that you'll have a better and fast recovery..

Hi Charlei, Welcome to Mylot! Well, I think I must handle stress for long periods of time. I'm 55 and my adult life has always been quite hectic, crazy and stressful. I've had moments of course, where I've felt like a couldn't take another minute but then I do. There are people that have known me for years and years that can't imagine me losing my temper or having a melt-down. I have to say...they've just been very lucky because I am human and I'm not above it at all. I have quick-recovery and bounce back quickly and my little melt-downs have mostly occured at home. Those closest to me know that I do have my moments. Still, I have to say and would like for younger people to hear this...As I've gotten older, I stress less regardless of how crazy things might get and yes...they still do. Why? Because I know that things are going to change & get better one way or another...they always do. Stress doesn't help or change a thing.Focusing on something other than what is stressing you out will rejuvinate your creativity and energy which will help you to find either a solution or the peace of mind to deal with the situation.

Unfortunately, stress is a part of life. I tend to have a different stress level from day to day with some days easier to handle than others. When it does come to a peak, though, I keep reminding myself to stay calm, and just do one thing at a time and eventually it all comes together.

yes that's probably right. Because often people tend to panic that is why at the end of the day, they are all jammed up with things to do, because they were not able to handle it.

I feel there is too much stress in today's fast past world. Enough is when you constantly feel stressed. When I feel stressed at work, I simply take a break and listen to some music. This works perfectly for me, afterall music is said to soothe the soul.

That's right, listening to music is one of the best ways you can do, for a fast relive of stress, especially when there is to much noise around you. It feels like you just want to shut your door close for everything even for just quite a few minutes or so.

So many people get stressed because they don't have an active lifestyle. They don't eat nutrious foods. They'd rather sleep, watch TV and play computer stuffs everyday. So how can we relieve stress? Simple just try to be more active and always have time to enjoy your life. Like pamper yourself with your friends or your mom.

indeed, nutrition, enjoyment, and a healthy active lifestyle is also a part. Unless for those people who are also being stressed by what they actually eat like, those who has anorexia, and bulimia. And those people who are already have a decreased of mobility, and senses, who might not be able to engage with activities and leisure.

Stress is the silent enemy of many people now. That is really brought by our fast-paced world. Lots of changes happen day after day. More and more people are caught in a lot of stress without them knowing it,yes, even children who are stressed by their teachers, their life at school and their studies.

I think stress is a result of not loving oneself. It is everywhere and it depends on how we keep it within ourselves. It would really break our goal for the day or even our goal in life if we let stress live within us. This would result into some addictions and in effect turn into worse phase of our lives until nothing will left for us. We must love ourselves. Learn to accept failures and overcome fears. And learn to pray.

Stress is indeed a normal result of humanbeings dealing with pressure. However, as human beings, there are ways to deal with it so that it doesn't affect one physically. I believe in not biting more than you can chew, exercising helps too as it alleviates the tension build up.
