Mayday Anarchists who Plotted Bridge Bombing are Occupiers - Surprised?

There's been an amazing lack of coverage about the five "anarchists" who plotted to blow up a bridge in Ohio. Sure, they mentioned it a few times on the news, but there's been very little follow-up, no release of details on the suspects or their affiliations.
In fact, although this happened on "Mayday", not one newscaster or journalist even speculated about any connection between the "anarchists" (such a carefully chosen label) and the "Occupy" movement. Can you imagine this being the case if May 1st had been declared as "TEA Party Day"? Since when do the TV talking heads and the news journalists not speculate or ask questions? I remember when a certain congresswoman was shot and before they even knew the name of the shooter, half the news outlets in the country had already blamed the TEA Party and Sarah Palin for their "rhetoric". Baseless accusations, especially since it was discovered eventually that the shooter was a massively disturbed schizophrenic with a history of violent behavior andobsession with Gabby Giffords.
So, it may surprise all of you who haven't heard about who these "anarchists" really are, since the MSM isn't about to tell you.
The plot was discovered by an FBI informant.
"The FBI probe of the five anarchists began after agents directed Azir to attend an October 21 Occupy Wall Street rally in Cleveland.
The agents mobilized Azir after receiving “an initial report of potential criminal activity and threats involving anarchists who would be attending” the “Occupy” event. While at the rally, Azir met Douglas Wright, 26, who reportedly confided details of planned attacks “against corporate America and the financial system.” Through Wright, Azir subsequently met (and secretly recorded) the other four men named in the bombing complaint."
Are you suprised that a planned bombing that was to occur on Mayday is connected to OWS? Why are you?
Are you surprised that the Mainstream Media which is overwhelmingly sympathetic to the left and OWS didn't report the connection? If so, why? It is disheartening to admit that I am not surprised in the least.

These Anarchist are more than likely some what afiliated with Occupy but this wouldn't be your Occupy endorsed sort of tactic as Occupies generally have a non-violent sort of stance however some of them like Oakland has had a very accepting sort of stance when it comes to Black Bloc tactics. Which would be the throwing of objects either homemade explosive devices or other things at businesses and the Police.
This bridge Bombing was hardly from the Occupy Movement. Also only one person in the plot had the connection of going to a few of the Occupy Marches. That is it. I mean if anyone that goes to an occupy march is an Occupier then that would mean that the Tea Party people who go to these to video tape the things they are doing and then releasing it to the public would be occupiers as well? Which that doesn't make sense.

Just one question:
If just one of these plotters had a connection of going to some of the TEA Party rallies and a TEA Party rally was where the FBI informant met him, do you think the media would have reported it or would they have ignored that connection as they have with this one?

I hate to mention this but, one of the five bombers actually signed the lease on a warehouse where about a dozen of the Cleveland Occupy group live...

The forces that are ramping up behind these occupiers - no matter how innocently naive the occupiers are or how much it is all a replay of the 60s college students who just wanted you to wear flowers in your hair - don't want non-violence and there will be riots.

Well, I think the mainstream media would of reported the connection because you know tea party people are racist or something like that.
I don't pay much attention to the mainstream media. I do get my national news from AP or Reuters. I just don't follow CNN,MSNBC or Fox News because they generally gloss over facts. It is like when protests are reported as being Occupy Protest but they aren't. It has happened at the local level many times. In order for an march to be an Occupy March it has to be endorsed by the GA (Governing Body of the local Occupies)

They didn't mention it because it was a bridge in nowhere Ohio. If it was on one of the coast it would have been bigger, but there are many things in Ohio that don't make national news (the connection between thousands of earthquakes and fracking?).
"In fact, although this happened on "Mayday", not one newscaster or journalist even speculated about any connection between the "anarchists" (such a carefully chosen label) and the "Occupy" movement."
WMD's anyone?
I am not surprised that this isn't reported because of the same "lone idiot" defense that right wingers use when one of their own goes off the deep end. This is one guy in a movement that is made up of millions of people (just like the tea party member in Ohio that wanted to kill everyone in Washington). The only difference is that these guys wanted to blow up a bridge in Nowhere Ohio. Like I said, if it wasn't in Cleveland (which many Ohioians would have been happy to hear something was being blown up there) than it would have made more headlines. But, Cleveland isn't New York, or LA!!!

I'm sure the people of Cleveland appreciate your theory on why it didn't make national news. They also had plans to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank building in Cleveland. BTW, two of the three SAID they were with OWS on FB.

Deb, as your radical right wing site stated this is a list of people that have SAID they support the movement. I can give a list of people who have said they supported things that Hitler did, does that mean they supported ALL of what Hitler did? But, they would be on that list, so what is your list worth?
The point about Cleveland not getting the same press as something happening on a coast comes from the world of sports. There are more people on the coast that care more about them than anything else. They don't care about what happens in the middle of the country, and they don't want to hear about it. It doesn't help that most media organization are based on the coasts

With the way these thugs have been attacking businesses and using molotov cocktails in Oakland I'm surprised it took this long for them to attempt a serious bombing. There's certainly a risk that the more extreme OWS thugs could turn into another Weather Underground, especially seeing as Bill Ayers is loved and respected by the left despite his terrorism.

The Weather Underground have moved up a notch, they make and advise presidents.

Unlike some responses I've read and some arguments I've heard as to why this isn't getting any national play, I call bullsh*t on it all.
We all know what's up. All of us! If people want to choose to go the dishonest route with themselves, well, they have only themselves to face that down. To each their own. I'm not trying to go the dramatic route, but I personally would not be able to sleep if I were willingly and knowingly that intellectually dishonest.
Before the ink was dry on the first anti-Obama administration sign, there was the memo released warning all Americans that a right wing group might be plotting things just like this. Even that was news. I specifically remember CNN having a field day with bringing people in to discuss how being on the anti-government right meant you were a woods-dwelling militiaman and how you're thus likely to literally explode.
Now, I won't tie these five terrorists in with the left wing. At least not on the mainstream of it. I have seen no evidence that this particular plan of action is associated with the Occupy movement beyond some bad seeds just trying to capitalize on it and seeking inspiration from it. Breaking windows and crapping on cars and rape and assault and harassment and such? That I do tie in with the mainstream of the left wing, primarily because it hasn't been shut down or shunned by these supposedly morally upright and righteous protestors.
There's no need to theorize on what would have happened if these five terrorists were associated with the tea party. We already know. Some of the responses would be different. For starters, there's be at least 6 posts on this site already, giving what amounts to an "I told you so." That'd also be the theme across the mainstream news and print circuit. I'm sure Pelosi and Obama would be weighing in on the matter. It'd be pandemonium
Here's what I've heard from three separate OWS supporters so far on the news. "Well, they're still young. This type of protesting works. No one actually got hurt, so..."
Aren't people ashamed?
Hell, I don't care if media chooses not to tie these morons in with the Occupy movement. But don't drown the freakin' story just because you support the cause! This has received very little play.
I found out from watching O'Reilly last night that a white couple beaten by a black mob in Virginia, the state in which I live, had their story swallowed by the powers at the paper and that even the police were scared to do anything beyond filing simple assault charges. Damn. I'm usually up on VA news. Why wasn't that a national story? Racial violence erupting as a result of the LIE that a white man shot a black teen in cold blood, and no one cares.
Media in America is not only dishonest; it's incredibly dangerous.

An HONEST, INTELLIGENT American! Take a look at some who've supported with DOLLARS, these 'anarchists'. Two of which had Occupy all over their FB pages.
I've been following crimes against whites due to the Trayvon Martin case. There's more than enough to warrant an investigation into some of those involved, like Sharpton and Jackson for inciting hate crimes.
