First time ever in Mylot

Wow, what a day. No mylot the whole day and now I came across a member who irritates me. First time ever this has happened to me here that I had a negative feeling about a mylotter. First time in my 3 years stay here

! God forgive me, but I don't know what's happening to me. I never really give out super negative reactions to any mylot member, I just don't like giving out a negative thought because I don't want to hurt anybodies feelings here. I just love mylot and the people here, there is nothing for me to get mad. But why did I give that negative and somewhat offensive comment? Now, I feel guilty. Was it right to react so badly? Do I have the right to get mad at that person for what he has said? I know we can write our own opinions here that is my I feel guilty now.

Please let me know I am not the only one giving out negative and opposite reactions or comments. Please make my mind at ease.

I'm new here but I firmly believe that having a negative or not good opinion or just different thoughts is OK here as long as you express it properly and politely,without insulting anyone. After all MyLot is for discussions and it's only natural that people don't like the same things and don't react the same way. So a person might like something and believe that something is right and another person might think the exact opposite. If you believe someone has offended you than you should freely say it,as long as the conversation remains polite and things don't go out of control.Nobody can avoid any kind of disagreements so if you can solve things by having a normal discussion about it then I don't think you should hold back to express yourself.

Gosh, I think my words were kinda offensive

. I wasn't thinking what I was typing. Those were just what came out of my mind and without reviewing it, I posted my comment. It wasn't also that polite, hopefully he/she won't find it too offensive.

I re-read the discussion and comment again and again and it really wasn't a good way to comment on him/her that way. Yes, what has been done can't be undone now so what I did was apologize to him/her. Hope he/she knows I'm sincere. That was the first negative rep I gave here as far as I can remember..*sigh*

So is it written in the Mylot Terms and Conditions that we should all agree with each other all the time? Of course not! This is a discussion website and every member must be aware that some people will not agree with you. Don't be too hard on yourself.

It's just the way you write that negativity - there is the polite way and the rude way and the rude way is frowned upon here at Mtlot. The biggest problem I have had is when a member lacks a sense of humour and takes a comment the wrong way. Then I have been blasted off the screen!! haha

. I really wished I could turn back time and redo what has been said and done. This is a first for me here. Even if I don't agree with somebody, I always say things in a good way. I really don't know what happened this time. I just burst out and bang.. unpleasant words came

Ooops! mia culpa When my humour has not been appreciated and I get blasted I get right back in and apologise, not for thinking differently but for the words I used. Eating a bit of 'umble pie' now and again is good for our soul! ps. I love impetuous people

I actually did get back on him/her..hehe. i apologized of course. Hopefully it will all be better now and no one will be hurt. I just don't like having hurt feelings with anybody here or even outside of mylot. It's hard to be happy when you know you have hurt someone's feelings

hi gaiza12 long time since I saw you. Look if he really made an offensive insulting comment he did deserve a minus, I have never given one as I just hit report instead and let the admins decide'if I w as right or not.While we are free to write out ou r feelings we are not to insult each other, thats a no no to the admins and they will tell the person so too.I would have given him a negative rating if he had offended me too. I rarely give negs as it does push down their stars instead I just report insults.

His/Her response wasn't really that offensive. I just got irritated with what he/she said. I just hit negative for his/her rep. Hopefully that person won't report me for responding negatively on what he has to say.. I kinda respond so inappropriately, but it wasn't that offensive. Just saying what i feel was the only thing I posted.

I do not agree with other discussions always. I admit I oppose and wrote negative comments, but I do not use rude words. I also received negative comments to my topics and even some rude words. What I do is only use emoticon to show the respondent that I do not like the comment by posting this one

Some members here don't read the entire discussion at all or he really don't get what are you implying to. I have read what he has written there and base on his comment he indeed misunderstood your discussion. As for your reaction, sorry to say but i do think you've been a little harsh there. But then again if was the one who got that words from you, I will not take it seriously as I am at fault there too.

Thanks, I know you are good so I am sure you won't take that seriously. I was thinking he/she looks at me like I was only after the money here, but hello, he/she can read all my comments and responses here from the first day up to now, and you really won't see me going after the earnings. I know I was too harsh, he/she was a newbie here. I should have been more patient and understanding and sensitive. Now, I am wishing mylot will put a delete post/comment so we can redo what we said

If he would read this new discussion of yours I am sure he would understand. I know you are good person and bringing up this topic is just a proof. The way I see it, you recognized what you should haven't done there and I salute you for that. It's a nice idea if mylot put that delete option for our comments.

Sounds like you really got irrtated. I haven't given out negative rep, but I can see someone giving out negative rep, if some other member was being really irrtating. If mylot didn't want people giving out negative rep, they probably wouldn't have added it into the system. I'd try not to let it bother me.

Giving out our own opinions can hurt or irritate anybody. Maybe I was just too insensitive and had it bother me causing it to irritate me. But, yeah, I will try not to let it bother me.

Gaiza I did a bit of investigating after reading this and found where the erm'problem' was/is. Move on and forget it. That user doesn't read one single response on his own topics so I am not surprised thathe did not read your topic. That response is way off there and I wonder if he should have posted it elsewhere

Yes indeed and from a what I just saw on another topic, where the topic was really long and interesting and he responded saying that we earn the same whether we write a book or two lines, it is so obvious that he has got it all so wrong

I feel a little less worried now, I didn't have the courage to look into his profile and his responses so I really wouldn't know his activities. I am a bit ashamed knowing one of the persons I salute here has read what I wrote

. It was really not the appropriate thing to say, I got way below the belt and I really apologize for that from the bottom of my heart. It's up to him to read and accept it, it not, then my life here would still go on like nothing has happened. Bing, yes, his name stands for what he really is after here

We are all capable of expressing ourselves in many different ways. Regardless of the rules we set for ourselves, sometimes we break them. Now I realize you did not mean to give out a negative thought or comment but it happens, and may very well happen again. We are only human, as another user has said. To Err is Human, To forgive divine. It seems to me you need to forgive yourself.

Just like what I always say, hate the sin and love the sinner. I am the sinner so I should love myself and hate the sin so I will try my best to never do that again here. This is one of the best lessons I have learned here and I thank all the ones who has made me realize those things

I already did apologize, but I don't think he will ever read it. Let's just hope he will read that specific response, it will somehow help him. Although I have seen some of his post and a lot of kind hearted mylot members were already trying to help him, it still would be of great help to him.

, Don't worry this is something that you shouldn't focus yourself to. if you believe that the response or comment by this mylotter is offensive, then you can always report that post to the admin, no worries i think. besides, some users tend to make post and unaware of sensitivity, i know i did once. but just report it if you find it offensive

His comment wasn't that offensive, it was I think my response was a little offensive. But, looking at his responses and discussions, I think there is really nothing to worry about because he really doesn't care with what we all post here, he was only after the money. So good luck to him if he ever gets that.

As per mylot no need to go for negative reaction if there is just different of opinions. But it's okay. Sometime it happens. No need to feel guilty now. As MysD written above that user is not responding to his own discussions, so it may not be counted.

We are all different people and characters here in myLot and it is natural that sometimes we will disagree in our opinions. It is not unusual to develop negative feelings when you read an offensive comment for example, even if it's not addressed to you. It has happened to me as well but I always try to control my feelings and as far as I remember I haven't given negative votes or responses to other members. If a discussion becomes offensive I just ignore it. However, I can see that you are a more active and older member here and I believe that when you participate in something a lot, sometimes you are carried away by your feelings more easily because it becomes a part of who you are. The same thing might happen to anyone and the fact that you have admitted it and you feel guilty shows that you understand that you might have over-reacted.

I may be an old member here but this is the first time i have shown too much bad emotion to a member. I never really am like this here in mylot. I try to be calm no matter how bad the discussion or the comment maybe. I don't understand what has happened to me when I typed my comment, and I really do hope that member will not take it seriously
