If Pune won that match, they would definitely move on third place in the ranking table. Unfortunately, they lost match by 1 run. We shouldn't criticize Ganguly here because all other players like Clarke, Ryder are not in the good form. Ganguly wasted some balls finally to withstand falling of wickets continuously. Pune had some good chances for winning the game but they missed it. Top order batsmen wasted the hard work and performance of bowlers. Here after, Pune would never get chance to move ahead on the table. Ganguly will be the batting coach for any teams from upcoming IPL seasons.

I was a big shame and really sad to see a class act like 'dada' having to struggle against the Mumbai bowlers. Hopefully, he will regain some form, when he faces his old team, KKR tomorrow. Cheers

I agree with your assessment. I thought it was a strange disjointed innings by Dada. He was not even able to get the singles and then when he tried to accelerate, he lost his wicket. That really let the Pune chase down. But mind you others before him had also played some really horrible shots to get out to heap pressure on themselves. Cheers! Ram

Hi Rajeev, Of course,Ganguly should have done something better which must have resulted in Pune's win.He played a slow innings. He scored just 16 runs from 24 balls. The main reason for Pune's loss is due to his strike rate.He has the second worst strike rate in this edition of the IPL.You are right, dude even if he had scored run a ball Pune would have won the match. He must take the blame for the Pune's loss.Mithun played well but on the other hand Ganguly struggled to score runs.I think Ganguly is better for hosting the shows and giving commentary.

Ganguly managed to score around 16 runs from 24 balls but his partnership with manhas was good. that partnership bring the PWI back on track. Yes, it was a slow innings by ganguly but with this innings you cant say that he should leave cricket. In last match against DC , he was much better. with the pitch conditions you cant ask same performance from a batsmen always. More over his captaincy was good and give good wins for PWI in the start of this season.

Sourav Ganguly couldn't manage to score well in this match which did create pressure on other batsman to come to manage to make runs. Mumbai Indians did manage well to defend 120, they bowled well to keep Pune Warriors from getting away ...
