This is Life

People are often, Unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, People may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, People may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, People may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today, May be forgotten tomorrow. Be good anyway. Give the world the best you have, And it may not be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, It is between you and God. It was never between you and them, anyway. I love this! How many of you Mylotters agree with this? What are your views?

OMG, its so strange that I would read this today. I have been experiencing a sort of really difficult situation at my job and I have stated some of these things, without having heard this. This is really refreshing to hear because it has so much truth behind it. I believe in every word this poem says and it is very true. In closing, no matter how bad things may look NEVER give anyone that much power to think that they can actually change your life for you...only God can. We came into this world with a plan for our lives already made out for us, we are simply living what He has chosen for us, in that sense I thank God for everything that happens in my life. Thanks for sharing this poem.

Yes, I didn't write this poem of course. But it is very enlightening and uplifting, especially if you are going through something. Words can be powerful especially when delivering positive messages that we sometimes need to read versus hear. I know how stressful life can be sometimes for most today and I pray that your job gets better for you. Just always remember that God wouldn't put more on you than you can handle and what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger! Have a great evening! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

I think that this might well be the best description of life and how we should live our lives that I've seen in quite a while. I am the kind of person that is honest and generous and I find that the vast majority of the people in the world are not that way. However, that will never be something that is going to change the way that I am because I am proud of the person that I am and I want to continue to be proud of myself.

You're so right and I am glad that you agree. Many people that possess this mindstate live easier and happier lives. People are going to talk about you and think what they want regardless of what you say or do or whether you are doing bad or good, so why entertain something you cannot change, if necessary? It is utterly just extra added stress that is unnecessary! I refuse to let my haters get me down, they motivate me to escalate to the next level! Thanks for sharing your views!!

What a great poem. I read this afternoon and I had to read it again tonight. I wish more people would read this. Or maybe if people could just think like this, it could make a lot of difference...

I found it to be enlightening also when I read it. I agree with you and more people should read this and think like this, but unfortunately everyone isn't the same or have similar mindsets. Some people are open-minded to new ideals and opinions, others are closed-minded and debate every issue that they don't feel they can relate to or agree with. That's just the way of the world today. As I stated in a previous comment to another user's comment on this discussion, the only thing that is indefinitely constant in this world is change. And once we accept that, life can be a bit easier! Thanks for commenting!!

I agree with you.How many people in the world can do exactly as you mentioned above in modern society. The society I live in has changed so much that I am often disappointed by it. There are so many unfair phenomenon in the actual world.I often hear thing about it not only from the news, but also from the people around me.I always think that if to do things like you mentioned is worth.Doing things in the way you mentioned sometimes let me feel alone, for I can not find any of this sort of people around me.

Yes, but we must adjust to how the world is and live accordingly to what we feel is moralized and right. The only thing that is an indefinite constant in this world is change. Once you start to look at things that way, not stress over the things that you cannot change, but put ALL of that energy towards things that you can, you'd be amazed at how more stress-free life can be and also how much you could possibly accomplish from such.
