"To My Dear Husband"

You are my life, my world
Without you there is nothing
You have filled an emptiness in my heart
Taken away what was missing in my life
You have given me a new way of looking at the world.
When I gave you my heart
You didn't steal or break it
All you wanted was to give me yours in return
As the love we share has grown
Our hearts and souls have become one.
You give me shelter from the rain
Hold me when I am cold, sad or for no reason at all
Protect me when I am afraid or in harm's way
You would give me the moons and stars above if you could
But with you they are already mine
Even while they remain high in the sky.
You are all I need and more
In your arms is where I feel the safest
It's the only place I want to be
I wouldn't trade you or what we have together for the world
I've come to believe everything happens for a reason
I know it's true.
If it wasn't, I wouldn't have you in my life
To be able to call you my friend, my lover, my companion
And most of all... my husband
To be able to share the rest of my life with you
And never have to feel loneliness again.

Is this to your husband or is this also a poem that you wrote awhile ago? If it is just a poem you wrote awhile ago and you are not yet married I hope that you get what you want out of life. Early I thought it was for your husband at present.

No, this was never to my husband. It's a poem I wrote when I was still in high school! I am about to divorce my husband and I'm quite OK with that!
Thanks for sharing your views!!

Yea, it's amazing sometimes how we can foresee our future through words written long ago in the past and actually relive that moment that subconsciously we knew all along. The brain can retain a lot and adapt as we age, well most of us, anyway. lol.

Yeah it's really neat the things that we wrote when we were in school and we go back and look at it. Sorry to hear that you are about to get a divorce. But I'm sure that I can relate to your feelings. As overtime a marriage can be under great stress because of differing views and feelings that each spouse has. When we are first married we think that we get along great and have the same goals and interest. However over time people do change and that can create conflict.

They are very true. It is very safe to stay at your husband hands at all the time. He can help you when you are in troubles. It does not matter whether it is true or not but still he helps you and keep faith in you and it is very important to love and care him for his doings for you and for your family.

That is very true. And those that are blessed to be married to real men who always support and stick by their families no matter what should cherish them.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

I'm glad to hear that your husband has been there for you through so much. It is a wonderful thing when we have the support of the one we love. I hope that your marriage will continue to be strong for years to come.
