I do keep tract of my periods every month as i do not want to get pregnant anymore.. i have three and that is enough. I was on depot a couple of months ago but i stopped last March as i was not feeling well..and i was waiting for my period this April...
I started to get nervous as, well i didn't have it on the 25 - 27th as those were my usual days....and yes it is May and i have not had it yet. I was like aw cmon here we go again, and i was praying to God no not Lord, it is a blessing but i am not up for it, just give me dymenorrhea lol...
But then when i was at the bathroom this morning and i saw that i have my period now and just delayed. And yes i am having cramps and pain..but well this time i won't complain!

Periods are usually delayed because of those things and pills too. My sisters-in-law said that their periods was no longer on the dot as compared to prior the use. But I'm glad that you got your period.
I thought that the ob would only allow people who are young, provided that they already have at least 3 kids?
Anyhow, what's your plan now that you're out of the depot and have failed the pills thrice? hehehehe..
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

I won't use any kind of birth control but especially not the depot shot. I've had friends who have said that that shot caused them so much pain afterwards and that they just really couldn't stand it. I am glad you got your period and that it was just delayed, but I do hope the pain doesn't worsen at all.
There are procedures that can be done that are supposedly like a tube tying, but different and less invasive or expensive. Still those are kind of risky. I just figured I'd throw it up as a suggestion, because BC's can fail.

Yes it is painful but it is better to be safe though. Ligation is the tube tying thing you are referring about..but then that needs for me to be confined and operated right? i do not like those plus i did try telling that to my ob but she told me i am too young for ligation... and for birth control pill, i failed on that - thrice

AT least, you are doing something not to get pregnant.
But yes, a delayed period could really make one nervous, specially when you don't like getting pregnant anymore.
For me, after having done rhytmn as birth control for 4 years after our only child, a delayed period becomes an anticipation that i could already be pregnant again.
Sadly, until i had my histerectomy, getting pregnant is elusive.

that is certainly a close call. you could wipe your brow on that one. i can understand the fear because i am on the depo. i hear you can get pregnant on it. well, i know it's a strange thing to say that you are happy to be on your period but on the other hand, congratulations considering the alternative.

Well, my wife also watches her period as we opted for the natural birth control with the 12-day menstruation cycle safety period, and there were times that it really gives her the worries of not having menses on the expected date. We got seven sons and hopefully it is enough blessing, lol!

Congratulations on your monthly period . I am not against your depo but it really has some effects in your body and I have heard that if you stop using it, there will be a great chance you will get pregnant. Why not do the ligation? It hurts but your fallopian tubes will be close and the chances of getting pregnant will surely be very very low. i think you can still have the stitches removed if you wish to have another baby in the future. Just try to ask your gynecology about it.

Are you naturally avoiding conception? Do you chart your cycles on a calendar? Do you know when your fertile time is? The other thing, when I used to get my period, I always knew by the moon, especially if it was a full moon and to help you all, the full moon was yesterday.
In the future, I wouldn't go back to the depot if i were you. I've know ladies to be seriously messed up with their cycles because of having that chemical injected into them.
