Hello everyone! I want to share my experience and I would appreciate your opinion. I joined a translation site recently and I was waiting for more than a month for my application to be reviewed in order to become certified and start receiving projects. A few days ago, they informed me that I am finally in, and I also took and I completed my first project. It works by collecting creadits for every word of translation, but I haven't been paid yet because they need sometime to process the payments. It is probably too soon for me to wonder this, but I was wondering if anyone here has worked with a similar site, because each translation is time consuming and I wouldn't like to waste my time!

I think the better way is to read a review about the site. Try to use search engines by typing the name of the site with the word legit or scam. From this you can determine if the site will pay you.

yeah you're definitely right, reading some reviews about the site that you would like to investigate gives you the right information, try to type in search engine: 1. sitesample reviews 2. sitesamples scam 3. sitesamples forum reviews 4. sitesample proof of payments (sitesample is the program that you want to investigate) I think those keywords will give you lots of honest reviews about particular site.

I think before you join in programs or making money online sites, you need first to do some research about the background of the company and specially search some proof of payments to determine if they really pay, but of course don't lose hope in finding ways to make money online,, GOOD luck

If it is free to join , you must still considered that you also invest your time in that particular site or program, so i think it's better if you do some research before you join or start working on that site. And also because there's a lot of money making sites out there that encourage every one that they are legit site, which is sometimes hard to believe,, those site know that a lot of people wants to have online job and really do everything just to earn money, so they use that weakness for us to fall into their trap..

Actually, it was free to join, so I didn't think about it much! And then I was waiting to be certified for 2 months so I didn't do any research because I thought that they wouldn't contact me. When I was certified I got my first project almost immediately and after completing it I took the time to think if they really pay! Sounds silly but I didn't do any research! :)

I am not a professional translator, that's why I started with this type of online companies. And I thought that this is a good way to get experience, see what clients are asking etc. and think about what happens in the future. I am only worried about the payments, I guess I will find out at the end of this month!

I used to work for this kind of websites, it is like this, you do the translation and after almost 1 month you get your money, it take some time, but I never lost money, it is better because I think they pay more, I used to work for onehourtranlator and others, I just left when I got more things to do in my last job and had no time for this, maybe I come back now that I am working in a place where I be on the internet all the day. thanks for the discussion!

Hello, thank you for your response! I enjoy translating so I initially thought that it would be a good opportunity to make some money from it. That's why I joined, and I have already collected some credits to cash out next month. But it is going to be my first payment and I was a bit concerned. I have joined OHT as well and I appreciate your opinion on it!
