Hi there. According to some research, a brief nap can boost one's memory ,which improve people's ability to remember things. What's more, napping can improve one spirit, which is very good to one's health. As for this i have my own experience. At noon i often have a nap. After it the working efficiency is satisfying. If i don't have one, i am often fidgeted, getting angry easily, and easy to make a mistake. So if i have enough time for a nap , i will take 5-10 minutes to close my eyes, without thinking anything, giving me a little break for my following work. What about you, my friends?

I don't always take naps, because sometimes it makes it hard for me to get the right amount of sleep at night. However, I do take some time to close my eyes during breaks, because staring at a computer screen the whole day isn't good for you. During these breaks, I often walk to somewhere quiet and close my eyes and breathe deeply.

I've heard that it is what you called the power nap. It's really good and effective. But if you don't have a lack of sleep, this thing couldn't actually work xD. So if you're lacking of sleep, this power nap thing will do a lot to you.

yeah. The power nap does have power. I often benefit from it. At noon i often lie in bed, close my eyes without thinking of anything. After what seems half an hour, i get down to work full of energy. I haven't a break at noon, i often make mistakes in my work or the efficiency is quite low.

Hello Friends, Even I think that "Power Nap" is a real energizer. One gets one's energy back to work with same zeal as is in the morning after you freshen up. Though it's all subjective and depends from individual to individual, but I believe that it shouldn't be more than an hour. One might feel lazy if it exceeds an hour. That means exactly opposite to what one intended from this "Power Nap". :) :) @ryanong: 8-9 hours of sleep at night is must for everybody. Still to freshen you up during the day time, it's really necessary to take a power nap. :)

Since I go to sleep very late everyday. So usually I will have a nap after the lunch since I will be energetic again in the afternoon. In fact it is also good for my work. I will make less mistakes if I don't feel sleepy. I hope more bosses will realize it. Having a nap doesn't mean your employees are lazy. I love China

I think although many bosses realize how important a nap is,either he can't put it into practice or he ignores it. At the present time many companies make it a rule to begin work at nine in the morning, and end it at five in the afternoon. There is only one hour for lunch. And what's more, there is often additional work after the routine, which offends the right of workers.

Hello, I don't know about the "boost one's memory" part but just like you, I've had personal experiences of a power nap refreshing me and standing me in good stead for the rest of the day. I used to sleep for 15-20 minutes in college days, just after having my lunch and after waking up I found myself relaxed and fresh to carry on with my classes, assignments, etc for the rest of the day.

Hi. In my opinion, After people have had a nap they recharge themselves ,and make themselves refreshed, they will improve the work efficiency and make few mistakes. That is what some articles said "boost one's memory".Whatever it is, taking a nap indeed has a good effect on people.

I often think about taking a nap but then I forget about it! No really! I sometimes get frustrated about how slow mylot can be at times, and how you should rest your eyes from the computer - all good excuses to take a nap. Then, something just enters your mind from nowhere and suddenly you're busy again. Sleep gets put off - so often in fact that when I do get to sleep, its for ten hours or more.

You should forget about taking a nap! You must be full or energy. I can't do without taking a nap all the day. When i am tired , i often stand up behind my chair, mouse in hand , working on the computer. Or i just turn the computer off, go out of the office, walking around.

Naps are great--I often take a power nap in the early after noon, even if I am at work. I just shut my door and snooze for 10-15 minutes and then I feel like I can keep going forever! The trick, I think, is not to nap too long, because then you wake up feeling sluggish, and your night time sleep cycle can be interrupted too. I think there is a reason that so many countries have a "siesta" after lunch--so you can rest and recharge your batteries after lunch, and then work longer into the evening.

how about getting into your car (or a friend's car) and taking a drive to a nice park or something nearby? or even taking a nap in your own parking lot? Of course if you take mass transit to work that isn't possible. But then maybe you could hop a bus or subway to the local library and take a snooze there!

lol, if only I had a door I could shut at work; yesterday I needed the afternoon nap so badly; but couldn't find a place. It was irritating but eventually I did get over it.

I LOVE taking naps and I take one when I can. Obviously I cannot take naps while I am at work, but when I have a day off, I will make time for a nap. Taking a nap seems to be really refreshing. I have to laugh when kids don't want to take a nap, so I always tell them that when they get to be my age, they will want to take a nap.

I do abide 100% with your educated reasoning about nap. When I feel like doing it, I do take a nap and the feeling after waking up is truly fantastic, uplifting and invigorating.

when i was in college i would always take every opportunity to take a nap because i would always lack sleep. now even though i am always tired at work, i can never get a good nap. even sleeping at night is hard lately because i have so many thoughts in my head about so many things - life, love, family, work, future. whew!

I don't often take a nap at noon. I am ok with it. However when my health is not good, i will be so sleepy at noon and i will take a nap for 15-20 minutes. I know taking a nap at noon is good for our health also, but i can't sleep at noon, seriously even though i want it.

I would much rather get a full sleep and keep my energy going all day but that is not always possible so naps can be a benifit. They do not always work as they should though.

I used to take a nap at work during lunch break which gives me extra energy in the afternoon and makes me relax for awhile.I always take the opportunity during an hour of break time during lunch to take a nap especially when I don't have nothing to do.

Hi Archaiwy. Whenever possible, I too would take a short nap after taking lunch. However when I was at the office I really find it impossible to do this thing. Now that I am in the training, I would see to it that after having our lunch, I immediately proceed to my room to take a nap. This way, I can have additional energy to go on with the class which would usually end up 11pm.

hi Archaiwy no I do not as I just lie there and cannot fall asleep. too if I did nap then it would upset my sleep at night and I am just getting over a bout of insomnia so naps are the last thing I want to do. some people love them but I dislike them very much. They never help me, only hurt me so I do not to that anymore.

I agree with you. I usually feel so much better after taking a nap. I'm able to get more things done later in the day when I take a nap. I try my best to take a nap while my daughter is napping. Usually I stay up about a half hour past her and try and get other things done. Then I tell myself I will be more productive for the rest of the evening if I go and lay down.

Power nap really makes us more focused to do our activities of daily living. It's quite satisfying to just close our eyes and think of nothing. I used to do it after lunch when I'm at work.
