Yeah, that's how I felt after reading the book. I just finished reading it a while ago, and I really must say this thing. I thought there would be more than that although I'm happy for the heroine that the man she's pining for over the years was the one man who have supported her in order for her to become a successful Geisha, I assumed that the Chairman would marry her. I was crushed when I realized that I've forgotten the fact that they only used Geisha as their Mistresses. I'm not really into happy ending but after reading all her hardships I was really hoping that she would be reunited as a real couple, yeah it's a childish wish I guess, considering what Sayuri thought, I should have learned to wake up from wishes myself huh? But I can't help but feel that way. How about you, what's your impression with story?

I loved that book, but did feel so sorry for poor Sayuri. She had such a hard life all together, and it truly sucked how Geishas were treated.

I really love the book too. I'm glad that I met someone who love it as well. Yeah, and I was kinda mad with the Mister who brought her and her sister to Gion.

I did enjoy the movie, however the book is a much better read. I would suggest watching the move before reading the book so you are not so disappointed in the movie. Really does bit..mistresses seldom become wives. She was not well educated or she would have moved on after the war with the man that wanted to marry her.

Oh, but I'm done reading the book and I know that people usually get disappointed when they've read the book first. I usually feel that way too, but it's understandable, a 2-hour movie really can't compress all what had happened in the book anyway. I also don't like to see the movie first because I would already know and be expecting what'll happen next when I read, I don't like that at all. It's much better for me to see the movie later, and judge how it showed the occurrences I've read in the book compared to how I imagined it to be. :D Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Have a good day! :D
