How often should you drink water?

I'm getting mouth sores now. It is a wind burn in my lower lip and it has puss clot in it. It really hurts as it gets wet or chapped further and my coworker told me I need to drink water more ofter. Some told me I should eat more fruits because that's a sign that I don't have Vitamin intake much than my body needs to. Is there any options for my windburns in my mouth heals? Is it because of me not drinking water too much (and I usually have more coffee intake than water), lack of Vitamin C or both? Let me know what should I do or how to make it heal faster. I'm a call center agent which I need to talk a lot everyday and it really hurts. Thanks!

It is really important to drink plenty of water, but don't drink it too often especially in times of eating. It will dilute the gastric acids in your stomach which are needed in proper digestion of food. Drink frequently in between meals, instead. About the mouth sores, especially those that are in the lower lip? Well, putting some petroleum jelly or lipstick may help you improve the situation. Petroleum jelly can be bought over the counter in pharmacies near you.

Yup, I will. Hope it will cure my chapped lips. About the gastric juices in the stomach and how it affects digestion; That's new for me. I will surely take note of that. On the contrary it will suppress my acid due to too much coffee.. Hope to hear more from you here. Thanks and happy mylot!

Petroleum Jelly it is, as one of the responses here says. It's normal to have those chapped lips now that it's summer. I used to have those until I started the habit of dabbing petroleum or lip balm at night before I go to bed and in the mornings before applying lipstick. Perhaps you need Vitamin C and E. You need to take care of your skin more. As for water, it is essential. It's usually 8 glasses of water a day. If you want to monitor, have yourself a water bottle that you need to consume that day in order to monitor your water intake. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

No brands necessary. But I do take vitamin C (any that is available, usually Poten-C) then I take Myra E everyday. Then Iron (Ferrous Sulfate any brand) when I have my period.

Come to think of it; I'll stop smoking though..hahaha.. thanks~! I'll monitor my water intake starting now. I have noticed that I have dropped my water intake due to tight break schedules and stress factors.. some things like that. What kind of vitamins do you prefer; if I may ask? Let me hear more from you. Thanks and happy mylotting!

a pleasant day to you resy21curapika, with reference to your query, well, in your situation, you are lacking on both. that ideally, you should at least drink around 12 glasses of water but, if you can't do that, just try to drink around 8 glasses of water and that would suffice. while you also need to take a vitamin c as a substitute for the fruits or it would be better to eat a lot of fruits rich in vitamin c. as the heat of the summer really dries our skin a lot. but as for now, you can apply a lukewarm water with salt to your mouth sore. try to damp a towel to the lukewarm water with salt then put it in the area where the sore is. hence, it will somehow help you to feel better.

it depends on the temperature. People living in dry areas need to dry water more often than that living in cold areas. I usually drinks 6-8 glass of water a day. Sometimes it may be more or less.!

Drinking water daily. 4 - 6 glasses is a good way to detox but I don't think your mouth sores is caused by a lack of drinking water. It's probl. in your blood (stream) and pops up if your immune system is (or was) low. I doubt if a lack of vit. C is the reason for it although this might help to keep your immune system on a higher level. I think a life with normal/healthy food, enough sleep, less stress is the key to a problem like this. It will solve itself within a few days.

As your friend said take water often. It is good for this summer. It is better to avoid the coffee. Instead of it, take some fruit juices so you would get enough water and also vitamins simultaneously. It is good to take only fresh ones than to have packed juices.

Thanks for the comment and advice, I will do it. I'm cutting down my coffee intake. I don't have access to fresh juice right now and I'm taking orange juice (powdered and dilluted) so far. Thanks and hope to hear more about you here in mylot.

As often as I could we need water to prevent dehydration.Lips sores sometimes cause of dry weather and sometimes cause of insufficient water intake. Your friend is right try to drink at least 6-8 glasses a day and add fruits to your diet.Try to take vitamin B2. Milk and yogurt could be a replacement if vitamin B2 is not available. I suggest to apply a lip balm into your lips to help the process of healing.Coffee is not actually a problem but at least don't replace them water with coffee. That the most important. Hope it helps..Take care

Mouth sores can be a result of sun exposure, stress, hormonal changes, another illness or lack of vitamins. You should drink a lot of water especially cold water and avoid hot beverages and spicy foods. You can also take acetaminophen o help relieve the pain and try eating popsicles. You should also use soft bristle toothbrush to avoid too much friction on the sores. Hope this tips can help.

I used to have some wind burn before and I had tried putting some lip moisturizer. That somewhat help but what I think that had helped me a lot is eating more fruits and drinking more water. It was just my observation for myself since I really have frequent wind burns before but now I rarely have it. Change in my diet which is eating more healthy foods help me avoid having that problem.
