Yes I believe in "God" Even though I have never seen "God" I believe that I have seen some wonderous things that can only be explained as the work of "God" I know there is something out there more powerful than myself I can FEEL its presence all around

I believe in some kind of supernatural power (I don't know why that's why we use the world believe, because that kind of has that meaning in itself that we can't know for sure, it's just a belief), but I don't believe that we can get to know it, and I don't believe in any mam-made religion's god-interpretations because of it. I also believe that it's a creating power but has really little role in our lives.

Hi bendygno, While I don't believe in God in the traditional sense, I feel that we were alive before coming here and that we will continue to live after our material bodies are of no more use to us. Anyone who observes nature will see that there are laws that govern all things and there is an order to the universe. In the same way, anyone who practices meditation or going into the silence, will find what I like to call a 'knowing', something that assures him/her that there is much more to life than what we find here. No I don't believe in an 'old man in the sky' kind of God, but a something that connects us all as one, indeed all of life. God is not to be found outside but within all living things and we are all a part of all that is. Blessings.

The people on this site are so smart... I believe you about the laws that govern nature and that there is order to the universe.

Why does one have to see God to believe there is a God? Yes, I believe in God. When I look around me, I can see that this universe and all that is in it could not have just happened. I see a creator and not just an accident. Through archaeological and historical evidence, I see the truth of God in the scriptures. I don't see anything that makes me think there is no God.

Faith comes by hearing, and what you do with what you hear?

It is all about perspective, and perspective is a choice we make about how we see the world.

I believe in God. It's easy to prove the existence of God. Which religion is the truth is much harder to prove.

Oh I forgot to answer your question. First of all I would ask you a question. How was everything made? Your answer wouldn't really matter of course (meaning no right or wrong) because everyone would have a different answer. Most people would probably use the big bang theory and others would use other theories. Let's use the big bang theory for example. In this theory we have something that explodes and becomes many things. Doesn't matter what this thing is. A ball of gas, a large rock, a hairball. Now ask yourself where did this thing come from? If it's a rock you could say it came from a bigger rock or you could say that it formed from many tiny pieces of dust. But then ask yourself where did this come from. Eventually you have to get to a beginning. Things don't appear out of nothing for no reason at all. Close your hands and open them. Did anything appear? And no matter how many times you do this you'll get the same result. It takes something to make something. Now when I say nothing I mean nothing. No objects, no space, no darkness, no light, nothing. Tell me how something would just appear like that? It's impossible. The only way for something to come into existence when nothing exists if it is caused by something that is beyond the physical realm. Something of great power. This power is God. God is beyond science. God created science. See it's easy to explain. Who is the true God well that's not easy.

I go by science and logic, and if you pull those two in, there is no way you could believe in a god. Therefore, no, I do not believe in a god.

Christoph56 , I think that science and logic, ?re not mutually exclusive with the presence of Almighty God our Creator, Allah says in the Qur'an " But it is only those amongst His worshippers that fear Allah who have knowledge. Indeed, Allah is the AlMighty and the Forgiving." Faatir-28 it means that Scientists are fear the God because they are studying the universe and see the greatness of the Creator created the universe and the provisions of appreciation so as not to collide planets "all floating in an orbit " and they know how to create a human (it mentioned in the Quran all stages of the creation of the embryo)

Logic is the art of going wrong with confidence. Joseph Wood Krutch Logic: an instrument used for bolstering a prejudice. Elbert Hubbard It is always better to say right out what you think without trying to prove anything much: for all our proofs are only variations of our opinions, and the contrary-minded listen neither to one nor the other. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) Most of our so-called reasoning consists in finding arguments for going on believing as we already do. James Harvey Robinson Logic is neither a science nor an art, but a dodge. Benjamin Jowett Logic, like whiskey, loses its beneficial effect when taken in too large quantities. Lord Dunsany He was in Logic a great critic, Profoundly skill'd in Analytic; He could distinguish, and divide A hair 'twixt south and south-west side. Samuel Butler, Hudibras. We must beware of needless innovations, especially when guided by logic. Sir Winston Churchill, Reply, House of Commons, Dec. 17, 1942. ...logic, the refuge of fools. The pedant and the priest have always been the most expert of logicians—and the most diligent disseminators of nonsense and worse. H. L. Mencken. The American Mercury. p. 75. Any scientist worth a hoot would know that you cannot prove or disprove something outside the physical world.

We can feel God, therefore he does exist.

In unraveling the human genome, Francis Collins said he was amazed at the knowledge and wisdom contained in them governing all of life. DNA, now that we know the complexity of it, contains information, it is a coded language. And not just information, but knowledge on how to 'use' that information to bring about a sentient and knowing organism from inert components. If nothing else convinces you of God, that should. If it took hundreds of millions of years to 'evolve' DNA, how did life exist without it? I am not arguing that evolution is false, I am saying it comes up lacking in its explanation, now that we understand DNA.

I feel God through my actions and know when God is pleased with me and when I have messed up, again, and God is disappointed. I can never stand anyone being disappointed with me and for sure, not God. I have been in many emotional scrapes and know instinctively when things will change. As a writer I looked after my two kids and money was tight. Always when I need money, it appears. This morning a well known Muslim writer came to interview me. She is a professor and teaches at the university. After the interview we talked about books and she bought 60 books from me. I could pay my bills. I never worry about money. I trust totally that God was instrumental in my writing. Writing as a child, unbeknownst to me even as a child, turned out to be a coping mechanism. I used to believe in God because I had to and was misinformed about my own faith; now I believe in God because I feel Him in my heart.

You don't have to see God to feel God. You feel God over a lifetime. God is your constant companion. He is with you when you have to make big decisions in your life and the voice in your head tells you it's okay, or warns you that you should not do it. We have all had the experience of being saved from catastrophes, and we have all felt safe in making decisions which are right for us. We know how uncomfortable we feel when we do wrong and so we steer away from it? Why? Because we are being directed by the good in us; we are inherently good. And who is this master at directing? The Living but Unseen God.

What everyone is saying in this discussion is interesting but to what end? just to feel good or to satisfy Allah? I'm not trying to offend anyone here and I apologize if I am or do, but God is not an "it", He does exist and you won't find Him in MyLot. He is not in everyone but only those who accept Him and yes I am a christian. Jesus Christ came for you and to believe in Him is to believe in God. One post from me is not going to make you believe in Him. You won't find Him, He will find you and then it will be up to you to either believe or not. And bendygno you say that you never see Him so how can anyone believe, well that's because you are trying to drink soap with a fork! How can you see what is spirit with eyes created to see matter? If you truly want to "see" then start with Christ Jesus. I'll leave you with this, when you start reading about Jesus Christ, open your heart, your mind, and "believe" :)
