taking up Ph.D.

At present, I am taking up Doctor of Philosophy major in Public Administration. Though, I do not have any intention of joining politics or do a public service. It is just a matter of compliance? Why? I did finish Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and took up Masters in Business Administration now finishing my Ph.D. though different majors and until now I could not convince my self that what I did take up is the right course for me for I know it is not. Anyway I got 2 subjects to finish and my academic requirements is done. I say compliance because I am working in a university and competition is very tough and need not to be left behind. I am studying in a school where I am also working. How about you, are you taking up Post Graduate course and why?

Hi ginspearl, Good for you. I always admire people who are so inspired and motivated to take up further studies. For whatever reasons you may want or need to do it, I think it is to be admired. I'm sure it's tough going but you'll reap the rewards. As for me I have thought of furthering my studies but I was unmotivated and keep putting it off. How do you keep yourself motivated?

hi succeednow! Thanks much for the admiration. One main reason why I am pursuing my Ph.D. is the fact that when I finish it I could proudly shout to the world that "hey I made it"! Yes it is very tough and need to sacrifice not only so much time but much effort but with the continuous support from family and friends, I am striving very hard to finish what I have started..It is also a matter of faith and confidence. One more thing, I always make my self believe that when I finish my Ph.D., I will be promoted and will get a better compensation (hehe) This are the things that motivates me. I just hope, you could consider them and could motivate yourself to further your studies too..
