Getting bad news about an old friend

About 20 years ago, two very dear people stepped into my life. Shortly after I met these two women, I was going through a divorce. Soon after that, one of them was going through a divorce and a couple years later, we were all divorced. We were very close for many years. Our children are the same ages and we had a lot in common. Over the years, for reasons we have never known, one of us distanced herself and we have a very hard time getting in touch with her. Out of the blue, she left me a message last week. I wasn't sure who it was at first because it's been years since I've heard from her, and when I first heard the message I was just getting home from my grandmother's funeral so I wasn't totally listening. I had planned on listening to the message the following night, but I was so tired from the weekend that I forgot all about it. So, today, my other friend - who I have remained close with - called to let me know that a mutual friend (who we met through our friend who had distanced herself) passed away the day after my grandmother. Then I remembered about the message on my answering machine. I went back and listened to the message again to get her number. We chatted for quite a while and it was very good to hear her voice, although very sad to hear the news of her friend that we all knew. We promised to get together in memory of her friend, but I hope this will be the beginning of a renewed friendship. Are there people in your past that have been lost to you and then come back? Did it work out well or did they go away again?

I have somewhat experienced having loss communication from my one and only best friend. We had fought because I was expecting him to help me with a mutual friend who had been in big trouble that time. He also had his own issues and he said some inconsiderate words reason why we stopped communicating. After a couple of years, he sent me a message and I began talking to him again. I realized how much I have missed out on- a couple of good news and a couple of bad ones. I believe it worked out pretty well. I have my friend back.

I have friends that come and go too, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're gone, but I guess we are just busy with our own lives that we understand why we don't get to meet often. But once we do, it would full of fun and memories are opened once again. It's sad about your friend, but I guess she's in a happy place right now. Why did she distance herself? Did you have an idea as to why? Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

We've never really pushed her any to see why she drifted away. We're just hoping that we'll get close to her again.
