Extreme nationalists in the goverment

Greece

The results of the elections in Greece are out. Surprisingly, the votes are pretty diverse, and more political parties will now have a say in the goverment. Among these parties, in the sixth place, are the extreme nationalists. What is you opinion about the attitude of nationalists like them? Apparently it shows that many people were frustrated with all the illegal foreigners in the country. However this extreme nationalist party has pretty extreme views and ways about the matter.:P I am not telling you what I think because I wouldn't want to affect your opinion.

Hello! Personally, I don't like the extreme nationalists. Unfortunately, I have heard many older people supporting this political partie without knowing what they really represent. The illegal immigrant's problem can be solved with an organised immigration policy, but most greeks tend to have a little bit of nationalism in all their views. Honestly, I feel sad when hear people saying that "it's ok" and "why not?" when they are talking about acting with violence against immigrants.

I couldn't have said it any better.:) Obviously you are familiar with the greek reality. An well-organized country doesn't need violence to control immigrants. It would be better to just make it more difficult to enter the country. All the immigrant problems in Greece, begin with the fact that most of them work illegally, without insurance and taxes. This being the case, the main problem is the inability of the goverment to apply the basic laws over the country and especially the employers.

Fact is the government that been there in the past made a big mess out of the country. They lied and cheated about their finance, to the rest of Europe. They dragged down the country, the people are the victim of it and so is the rest of Europe. After this mess it's normal that people want something different. They want to be put on the first place. Extreme nationalists are the ones who only care about their own people. You will find them now in every country (in Europe). It's a sign to open up your eyes, to take care of your own people first before you help out others. You can not give millions of euro's to others if your own people are suffering! Many foreigners are just fortune seekers and find it normal the community is paying for them. They even get way more support/help/income as the own people. It is the same over here in my country. If you want a better world you have to start with yourself (= own people). I think this economic crises can only be cured if we all go down (under). Then there is a chance to rebuild. Now there is not. If you really think that we, the Netherlands (which is the poor people) love to pay for all the foreigners but also Greece and the other nearly broke/bankrupt European countries you are wrong! I never wanted a euro, I don't feel European, the countries and their habits and attitude are completely different from ours. But leaders don't care, they only care about being announced in some history book, they are also not the ones who have to pay for this mess.

A very interesting opinion with strong arguements! It is a wellknown fact tat the corruption of the greek politicians are the main reason for the country's sudden downfall. The greeks are the first who have to face the difficulties and rage of all. My father works about 15 hours every day and IF he is lucky he will be paid half of what the law states, as a monthly salary. In his company, they even work every day 1 hour for free so that their bosses won't go bankrupt. They can do nothing about this, not even report it because the goverment still covers the rich in our country. At the same people, politicians are building luxury villa's, and i am unemployed for almost a year, having to pay all new kind of taxes. Still I believe extreme nationalists are a bit too much. The particular one has neonazi way of thinking and its followers like to beat up foreigners...it's kinda inhuman. There are patriotic political parties, who put their country before the immigrants. And I think that's the best. Be able to create a goverment, that allows immigrants, as long as the country can support them, and as long as they work legally and pay all their taxes, and if this happens, greeks (or any other nation's people) don't have to pay for the immigrants, because the pay everything for themselves. Illegal immigrants on the other hand are a disease for every country. They work for less money and illegally, employers prefer them, we lose our jobs, illegal jobs are not paying for taxes, rich become richer and poor poorer.
