Anyone has ever had such an experience being so close to little birds?

Lovely birds eating corns on the ground - This is a picture I took when I saw them eating corns on the ground under a small tree. I was standing very close to them when taking this photo. I took quite a few photos of them and I love those lovely birds.

I had this kind of experience and had this picture taken one day in February this year when it was fine though cold. It is a picture of little birds. My family were taking a walk along the ancient wall in the city when we saw more than twenty little birds eating those scattered corns under the small tree, as you can see in the picture. We stood there, watching them eating the scattered food for them. We were standing so close to them. They got scared a little bit and flew away. But very soon they came back to the delicious food under the tree, ignoring our standing so close to them. It is the first time that I have ever seen so many birds flocking together for food without feeling scared of humans. I love these birds and wish to have another chance of meeting them someday. Have you ever had such an experience being so close to those lovely little birds or similar animals in the wild?

yes, just sometimes... whenever i go out, these little birds are perched on trees or the wall..i also see them gathering twigs. There was this one time a bird tried to get a twig, twice its size, the twig fell.

It so happens that there are a lot of trees in our school too. Sixty percent of our school is covered by green trees and a lot of different birds are seen flying from one tree to another, which is a scene I love to see.

The bird was very interesting, trying to get a twig twice its size. Now I am back to school and often I see birds, big or small, flying from trees to trees on campus woods. I love those birds. Take care, lady1993.

My school has lots of birds to since it has a garden and huge trees, which makes it scary at night.. I love it when they make those sounds, there are many types of them. it'd be nice to touch them though- if they i didn't fly away so fast. You take care too.

Hello William Both me and my wife have indeed had birds close to us when feeding. These included: swallows and pigeons mainly - the ones we fed in London, in St James Park have actually climbed on our hands to eat, while the ones in Bucharest are far more scared. I have also fed chickens, ducks, turkeys and turtle-doves as well.

Yes, I've experienced being close to wild birds. I've been close to pigeons before. These birds have no fear of humans, especially when there is food around. Seagulls are the same way, although they are bigger than pigeons and tend to hover over people when getting food, so people have to watch out not to get bird poop on them! LOL My husband was able to hold a hummingbird once some years ago as well. The poor thing had flown into one of our windows. If I remember right, he cradled it in his hands and even gave it some nectar. Once the bird felt better my husband released it outside. Happy mylotting!

It is really a good chance to be close to those mentioned birds. If I had a chance to go to the seaside, I wish I would be lucky enough to be close with seagulls. Have a good day, sacomom.

Dear friend, This reminds me those sparrows that comes to our home with lot of it. It is really nice to see them. 5 years back there were parrots that come to the back yard of our home, we feed with beans. It is really nice to see them eating what we feed them. Moreover they are friendly to us and even come near for those eatable things they want, only thing they want is not to hurt them. It is lovely to see them enjoying their freedom sharing with us. I feel pity to see them caged, as if they are put in a jail.

Hello Shamrack. Wild birds enjoy more freedom than caged ones. I am sure that they love it more in the wild than in a cage where their freedom is restricted. Have a good day.

Hi William! How are you and your wife and son and family? Sorry for my absence from your discussions and from mylot in general. Issues keep coming up - sure you understand. The photo of the birds is just so beautiful. Reminds me of my time with two little birds who kept disturbing me with their nicks on the AC top. Then one day I decided to shoo them off. I went outside in the balcony to find out what are they upto really. Saw one bird squatting happy on the top and the other balancing dry twigs and pushing them through a narrow entry in the corner. The substantial branches they were keeping and the not so sturdy ones they were throwing off. I was so amazed and thrilled by their sense of emotion and intelligence that I forgot why I had come outside. Next few days what followed was a beautiful nest, a birdling, two happy couples and my sleepless nights. And then one fine day they all were gone leaving me alone with my sleep!

That's so lucky that you can be so close to the little birds. I have never had such kind of the experience, especially in the big city. In this May holiday we went to my husband's hometown and there was a swallow nest in the house. It is so nice. At least we could see them fly away in the morning and fly back to home in the evening. I love China

Every year in the spring a couple of swallows fly to the eves of my office and then they start to build their nest, getting ready for laying eggs and hatching baby swallows there. I love to see them flying in and out of their nest every so often. Take care, youless.

That is a nice feeling when you are so close to to them! When I was a student in my old house, I had a big balcony and I used to sweep outside the small breadcrumps from kitchen floor after my breakfast. And there was one small bird that was coming almost every day to eat them, so I was sitting there drinking my coffee and I was watching the bird that was coming very close to the glass door. It was also going to my neighbor's balcony downstairs from what she said :)
