I can’t find evidence

I met a person who was also a Christian then we had a conversation about the hair of Jesus which he believes that the hair of Jesus was long. I told him that Jesus didn’t have a long hair and provide him with an evidence using the Bible saying that “If a man has a long hair, it a disgrace unto him” which can be read on 1 Corinthians 11:14. I also told him that when it comes to religion, there is only one valid basis and that is the Bible. I also asked him to give me a passage or a chapter and verse that proves or that contradicts my evidence. But he can’t find one so I asked him “do you believe on what the Bible said?” then he didn’t reply so I told him that “it is clear that you prefer to believe on the picture of Jesus you always see and not the in the Bible which is the word of God”. I think the person I am having a conversation with was having a hard time trying to accept the fact that he can’t provide an evidence to prove that I am wrong using the Bible. I also told him to provide information about the standard length of hair of Jewish people. If you can give me information that proves their standard hair is up to shoulder then I might consider the fact that your beliefs are somehow right. Until now I haven’t received anything from him. How about you? Can you give me information about the standard length of hair of Jewish people?

Well, I don't have a plan arguing with you xD. All I know is that I believe about our God. There is one time in my life when I hated him thinking my life isn't the way I want it to be,then after I hate him my life became worst. After 2 years I notice that God is not to blame for that, i returned to God and my life starts to be okay again. I realize that I'm still lucky compared to other people. Then I thought about it, we can only change it by our own decisions, it's called free will. I now believe in him more than before.

Oh I see, that is okay XD. You should not blame God for everything has a reason. If you don't have any comments about the hair I would respect that. Happy mylotting and thanks for sharing.

Men in Israel at the time of Jesus wore their hair short except it was uncut at the side in front of the ears, as proscribed by Mosaic law all the best urban

Jesus hair, it this really a description of Jesus? - This image is just an illustration of Jesus hair which most Christian believe that the hair of Jesus was this long, like a female hair.
Yeah that is right, the only thing that was uncut was in the side of the ear but their image description of Jesus is long hair like a female hair where it is long at the back. I provided an image of Jesus below to show their Jesus looks like.

I can't, (for the life of me) get excited over the length of any one's hair! So what? Who cares, and why? As for the bible being the word of God, perhaps it was but remember its been translated and changed to reflect different religions. Here is how Gregory Koukl explains it,- "The Bible has been changed and translated so many times over the last 2000 years, it's impossible to have any confidence in its accuracy. Everyone knows that. This challenge has stopped countless Christians in their tracks. But it's remarkably easy to answer if you know a few simple details. The complaint is understandable. Whisper a message from person to person, then compare the message's final form with the original. The radical transformation in so short a period of time is enough to convince the casual skeptic that the New Testament documents are equally unreliable. How can we know the documents we have in our possession correctly reflect originals destroyed two millennia ago? Communication is never perfect. People make mistakes. Errors are compounded with each generation. After 2000 years, it's anyone's guess what the original said. In cases like this, though, an appeal to common knowledge is usually an appeal to common ignorance; the people don't have reliable information. To prove this, always ask, "Have you studied how the ancient documents were handed down?" Be prepared for a blank stare. They haven't.

The British Library has just put Codex Sinaiticus online. The world’s oldest bible, handwritten over 1,600 years ago, is now available for the general public to peruse. Just don’t expect to find the familiar biblical stories you learned at Sunday school: 1600 years ago is like yesterday! How many times was the bible changed before it was hand written 1600 years ago?

Barehugs, so put your money where you mouth is and give an example of where the text is different I picked the following 4 lines at random and they are substantially the same John 1 from the codex 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through him, and without him came into being not one thing that is in being. 4 In him is life, and the life was the light of men. John 1 from KJV 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. all the best urban

barehugs, at some point you are right and I also agree that it is being changed many times already and some words are being replaced like the word "post" where Jesus was hanged. The original script was Jesus hanged in a post but they changed that to "cross". But so much for that, I have been reading different versions of Bible, they may seemed different in terms of words being used by they are "THE SAME IN THOUGHTS" if you understand what is written there. If you keep on thinking that the Bible was being changed many times and you are doubtful with its accuracy then you are like a horse with one sight direction. You need to open your mind and see different directions. Aside from that, you are being to general here, I am just talking to a single chapter and verse in the Bible the 1 Corinthians 11:14, I am not talking about the whole Bible. Now here is a challenge for you, gather all different version of "Christian Bible" and read 1 Corinthians 11:14 and compare each Bible that you have gathered. You will see that they may be different is words and how the sentence is being constructed, but they only have one single thought.

The person speaking in 1 Corinthians confuses me a bit. I'm not sure if he is saying that God disproves of men having long hair or he is just stating the customs at that time. I would say that God did not have a problem with men having long hair because of one great example. Sampson. I have often thought myself that Jesus could have short hair. It doesn't say the length of his hair. Being that the Romans controlled Israel at the time of Jesus and they are known for having short hair (of which I'm sure had influence of the style of their subjects) Jesus could have very well had short hair. But long or short it doesn't really matter.

People don't like it when you tear down their idols. He had a picture of the Christ he wanted to believe in, you tore it down. I've read here some thoughts that the Bible cannot be trusted anymore. God has promised that His Word will not perish. If you don't want to believe that, you will find excuses to not believe it. Free will cuts both ways. It is wonderful if submitted to the grace of God, it is not so good when in rebellion to the grace of God. Perspective is everything. It is a choice we make of our own free will, to believe or not believe. That is why, I believe, that so little was said about how Christ looked, it is not about sight, it is and has to be about faith. Otherwise, we turn Him into nothing more than an idol.

we all have different religions and different beliefs but in the end its not our religions that will count the most its what our LORD AND OUR GOD sees in our hearts and how we deal with our fellow man that will bring us everlasting life. let me ask you what was in your heart when you argued with your fellow Christian and what was in your heart when he cant provide you an evidence of Jesus hair length?

I would feel bad if he can't answer my question and I would also feel bad seeing him that he is believing to something which is not in the Bible. You see, if let other people being drowned from false beliefs, it is like you are just letting that person die. If you truly care for that person, should have to help him to see what is the reality, and what is written in the Bible. I am an open minded person for I am still seeking for the truth. If he can prove that his beliefs are right then I won't hesitate to follow his belief. I won't put anger in my heart nor be happy if that person can't provide an evidence.

a lot of what Jesus did while he was still on earth was not recorded and documented in the BIBLE. a lot of His miracles and teachings were not included but books have been written about it and a lot of what is in the BIBLE now has been proven incorrect and inconsistent but it has not diminished its holiness at all. what 'm saying is it is not always right to base our faith on one thing only because we will not be judged on how well we interpret the BIBLE but on what is truly in our hearts. i pray that the LORD will open your mind to see things in a wider perspective!

Hi nagatron, Surely there are more important things about Jesus than the length of his hair. Read and meditate on his words in the sermon on the mount and never mind as to whether his hair was long or short. Blessings.

yeh, you are right, there is not information about that, and if he was that different, I think they would have added that in the bible. for me there is no difference if His hair was long or not, but I understand what you are saying, that all the pictures they make about Jesus is with long hair. thanks for the discussion!

This is one in which Muhammad described Jesus peace be upon them , as you can see, the hair was up to his shoulders : " Mentioned the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him two days between the people dorsal , the Antichrist. He said, "The Almighty God is not a one-eyed. , the Antichrist eyed eye right. With his eye floating grape" he said: The Messenger of Allah peace be upon him "showed me the night in a dream at the Kaaba. If man Adam ( To the red and white) as the best what you see of Adam men. His hair hit to the between his shoulders , his hair between the fine hair and the curly. dripping head of water., putting his hands on the shoulders two men. which between them roams the house. I said:Who is this? they said: Jesus son of Mary.and saw behind him a man curly (like the hair Negro ) eyed eye right. like I saw people son of Catan ., putting his hands on the two men shoulders . roams the house. I said: Who is this? said: This is the Antichrist. "
