Personally, I believe that eating meat is not healthy. But I am not here to force my beliefs on anyone and I know that various different people do succeed to varying levels on vegetarian, vegan and omnivore diets. But speaking from my own personal experience, as a meat and dairy eater I always had little niggling issues that I thought were just a normal part of life, like irregular bowel movements and sinus congestion, headaches, colds and flu symptoms. These went away when I stopped eating meat and dairy. I am now almost 40 and feel better than when I was 20 years old. I lost weight, got more energy to live the life that I wanted and I feel better about my life in general. But, being healthy is just not about giving up meat, it is all about incorporating more fresh produce in the form of fruits and vegetables and leafy greens in as well and also cutting down on grains such as breads, pasta and rice which are very hard for the body to digest.

Good to see you've made it back from the States still intact! How was it? Did you motivate them all to vote up there? Are there any remotely "green" candidates up there at all? I hear the current President has some good green policies. Are you still keeping up your intake of sprouted grains? I reckon that grains & legumes are great in themselves, but we humans make a mess out of preparing them correctly & do it... incorrectly! The thing is, our grand parents ate food that was mostly not processed which is extremely different to what we are presented with these days. Most food is so over processed it bears little resemblance to food and even fresh food is grown or treated with chemicals and others scientific things. Eating raw, fresh and natural foods is preferable for good health. Finding such food and being able to afford it is something else again.

I do think meat is bad for health. Actually, I'm a vegetarian myself. And it's not only terribly hazardous for people, but also, their footprint on the environment is incredibly huge. Plus, think about those poor animals living a torturous sad life doomed to being slaughtered. Don't you feel guilty?

I don't think meat is bad for our health. It is one of our sources of protein which is very important to our body. Just don't eat too much of it. Remember, too much on something is bad.

Meat is good for your health but it depends on the type of meat that you are eating. It must be of course healthy and trim of the fats.

Since we human beings have got canines,I think it's obvious that we are designed for meat. And meat offers the protein that our bodies need.If you do not eat meat in a crazy way,it will be bad for you.But everything do have exceptions.

As long as we do not consume too much meat, it will not disturb the health. All the existing proportion. If the deficiencies, not good. Excessive, is also not good.

I don't think meat is the main issue concerning health. Eating meat is necessary, but not too much. My conclusion on the debate on what is good and what is bad to eat to have less problems with health is: eat a little of everything and do not exaggerate. When I work very hard physically I feel like eating a horse! We need energy for our activities so we need to eat a variety of foods to feed our body with energy.

Too much of anything is bad for you. Meat--I understand--is a powerful substance (lots of protein, iron etc.), so you have to have more ... bread, vegetables, fruit, water, and/or all-of-the-above ... to balance it out.

Hi there! Life is bad for your health and everyone have to die at the end. People today say meat is bad, tomorow vegetables is bad and so on. First sugar free things have been good and now they say its bad. So much things can cause cancer and all that bad things that practically you shouldnt eat or drink almost nothing if you believe everything what experts say about it. Anyway you can enjoy in your life and eat what you like, of course in normal limits or you can eat just those healthy things that have taste like sh** but at the end you have to die. And as you told, your grandma eated meat and she is alive same as many other people, and on the other side some people dont eat it and they can be sick anyway.

i think it depends on the individuals physiology and body metabolism. ive seen a program on Oprah and it featured people living in Italy with purely meat as their diet and they lived for very long years without any dieases connected to high cholesterol levels. i believe if one is accustomed to such diet then he /she is safe.

It is true that eating meat is not good for our health but,I also believe in people who have relatives with longer lives are hereditary even if you consume a lot of meat yet it is much more better to consume plenty of vegetables and fruits because it could enhance your longevity more than what you expect to go with your age.You can still eat some meat as long as you just choose the lean part of it as I have also done.

i think it depends on the how you are preparing your meat. Like if you are using lot of oil and cheese in making it ,then meat will definitely hamper ur health. but if your r eating roasted one then i dont think it will be bad for your health

Personally, I do not believe everything I read in the news or hear on the TV.. I look at my own experience of things and take my opinions from that. So how can meat be bad for your grandpa if he is still living after 90 years? Obviously it isn't bad for him. I have known vegetarians to live much shorter and not be very healthy! I think that experience is far more valuable than listening or reading about something that seems to say that everybody is the same, because we are not. Meat may not suit some people, but for others, they could be ill if they were to cut it out of their diets. Look to your genes that you've inherited from your granpa and take your truth from that.. _Derek

Too much of anything is bad for us. We have become a Fast Food society and with all the chemicals in our foods it is no wonder we are such a diseased society. One's diet should be balanced between vegetables, grains, and some meat/dairy. I believe that most of the people around me overdo the amount of meat they are consuming. So we must be watchful on what the food we intake all the time.

Depends on how much you eat everyday. It can also depend on what types of meat you it. Eating organic meat would be much healthier than eating processed meat. The protein in the meat is also essential to help your body repair itself everyday. I know you can get this from other foods but meat has more protein in a one serving than them. Carry on what your eating now and you will be just fine as long as you exercise a bit and eat vegetables and fruit. Blessed you be
