My Co-worker's cat dies

"Chu"; which is my coworker's pet of 12 years died a few weeks ago. Until now the couple cannot help but to be sad about it. As if the cat's breath is still within their hours and all around them. I also felt sad as she told it to me what happened and how they love the cat so much. Of course she has been around for 12 years every step of the couple's way every day. Both of them are emotionally attached to the family pet. And this is not only a pet; not only an animal but a friend and the second person who will comfort her if her girlfriend is not around due to contrasting shifts. But for some reasons the cat grew pale and died eventually. I know how remorseful it is to loose a friend. I have a quotation that I love most along with other encouragement quotations. "One who looses money looses much. One who looses a friend looses more. But one who looses courage looses all." I tried to empathize and share my experiences with my 12 year-old dog before as I was also felt bad on my lose. How can I comfort her more about this? Can you share your experiences or views about this? Please reply. I'll be looking forward for your comments and thoughts so I can share it to her. Thanks! Happy mylotting pet-lovers ^_^-)

I like your quotation, actually, I copied for not to loose it, I hope you don´t mind. Regarding your friend´s loose, well, a pet can become like a member of our family, and sometimes, even closer, I suppose that she feel like loosing someone very close to her and needs time, there is nothing you can say to her to relieve her pain, only time will cure her. Maybe it is too soon now, but maybe she could get another pet soon, when I loose one of my pets, that usually are with me many years too, I leave some time myself of sorrow, and then, I get another one, because I love pets too. But, some reasonable time of sorrow is necessary first, in the mean time, maybe she can store the things of her cat, so she must not see them and remember all the time.
