Do not criticize... But TEACH!

I know I'm suppose to be studying my butt off right now, but lemme get one thing straight. I seen a lot of people criticizing some people for not knowing something or how to do something... Well, the best way to brighten their horizons is to teach them how instead of criticizing the person and watching them struggle... Or at least give them a few tips right? A really close friend of mine never had the privilege of playing guitar, singing, or doing art... So he personally asked me to teach him when I told him his singing wasn't too great and he admitted that his drawings aren't that great at all due to the lack of practice. So I basically agreed to help him hoping I could create wonders from my new student... I'm not a great singer myself, heck I could sing but not as great as Adam Lambert or Christina Aguilera. I could draw, but I'm still learning to improve myself since life is all about growth and improvements and enjoying your life to the fullest right? I was just wondering out of curiosity, what has been the highlight in your life for teaching someone how to do something that they didn't know how or understand what to do? Example: - Could be a friend struggling at school with homework before they became your friend and you two became friends after that? - Teaching your child something cool like riding the bike? You know, the little things in life that makes the experience more rewarding and cherishable that people define YOU as the one who taught them.

Adam lambart and christiana, why were those the first two names that popped into your head when you though about great singers? There are many more greater singers then them, I'm guessing you are a fan of these people, its all good, as their music is cool too.

I'm speaking for the younger generation... Mariah Carey's voice is in that range where I definitely cannot hit as well without proper training. Same with Freddy Mercury and Whitney.

I used to work as a product specific trainer on my previous job and the highlight comes upon knowing that my previous students are now supervisor or managers, or trainers themselves. It feels great that the people you used to teach are doing a great job in their career because somehow you know that you have been a part of their development. It feels all the more great when I receive messages from them, thanking me for teaching them valuable lessons.

You are right indeed. I am presently teaching people the art of saving lives. I became a teacher by accident. I work as a rescuer before in our city's rescue unit. Along with the job, I had the chance of sharing my knowledge on life saving techniques to our volunteers and from there conducted training to companies, schools and different groups. Now that I no longer work as a rescuer, I still conduct training and teach people how to provide first aid, cpr and other life saving skills. I know that with the knowledge that I share, people will be able to save a life... that for me is more than enough payment for the efforts that I do...

Hi Guru! I am different... I criticize but i do make sure that i teach as well. I have no right to criticize if i have no right to rectify it. It is good to teach a person who has an open heart. What i mean with open heart is that he should want to learn a new craft and is sooo willing to accept all his errors. I remember.. i used to be a choral director before... and then there was this short guy who loooooooves to sing but was sooooooo way out of tune... in musicality, there is what we call sharpers and flatters. This guy is a flatter. It sure took me a year to train him well. I am proud of what he has become. He has been touring around the world as a member of renowned choir here in the Philippines. Yep... My work of art... I may have been an instrument to what of has become of him right now. Many times though i have told him, "nothing would ever come out from all my sermons to you if you wont take them constructively."

I've been teaching arts and crafts to both kids and adults for over 35 years and I still get the most delightful goosebumps when I see the eyes twinkle or a smile because one of my students learned something new. I can't even comprehend why anyone would criticize anyone for anything! but I've seen and heard people do it to me, that's like watching someone drown and poking fun at it because no one taught them to swim! I'd much rather have that goose bumpy feeling after teaching someone something!

My jaw involunartily clinches when ever I hear (or read) some one critizing someone else for not knowing something that they never had the opprotunity to learn. Like in the store where I work I hear parents all the time telltheir 5 and 6 year old children, 'No, you can't have that game because you don't know how to play.' No I am not kidding, I can get both my coworker and boss to vouch for that, and litterally when I hear it I have to leave the store so I don't beat the breaks off of the parents and tell them that's what's wrong with our school system now, most people won't take the time to teach, just critisize... ohhh that makes me sooo mad.I actually forgot what I was going to say! ... oh yeah, I do love to help people and show people things they've never done or experinced, that look of 'wow' on their face makes me feel good for the rest of the day!

I love to teach different things to different people, try to make the world a better place, on person at a time. It all started with my little brother, who by the way....really isn't little anymore! I taught him to ride his bike, tie his shoes, read before he started school, taught him his colors, later taught him that his wife that he thought was jealous of his friends, just wanted to spend time with him. I did the same with nieces and nephews and eventually my own kids and I try to teach my grand babies the same kind of things. It's a great feeling when you can share what you know to teach someone else something. I wanted to be a teacher when I was younger, never had the opportunity to do that. I do think if it's something someone wants to do, they should be a teacher. I always think the best ones are the ones that love teaching and not the ones that are in it for the summer vacation and holidays off work.

Very true, my friend. Do not criticize but teach. If you don't want seeing a not of quality works, then teach that someone how to make his/her work quality. When i was to be assigned to a higher position, i had to teach the new hire about it. She can't get it for the first week, yet i don't criticize but taught her more. I told her to take note, on how it is done so she can refer to it when something went wrong. And so she did. She was so thankful of that and my teaching. She keeps telling other employees about the nice thing i have done for her. EVen her husband thanked me because she told him so. She told him i am a great and intelligent teacher. I have never been so proud of myself.

Do not criticise , but teach .I wish I could convey this message to all the ma-in-laws responsible for marriage breakups .Girls study hard to achieve their goals , where is the time to learn housework ,along with the prince charming comes a fault finding ma- in law and all hell breaks loose .Instead if she becomes a guide to the daughter she will be much appreaciated.
