Fake emails from JustBeenPaid.

India
May 14, 2012 12:28pm CST
I have received two consecutive emails from justbeenpaid.com having the same content. I state it in my own language. The message states that JustBeenPaid gives random cash prizes and they have selected my account as the one of 10 top winners accounts who will get cash prizes from the site. I have WON $100 LR and I have been directed claim my prize following the direct link:http://sci.libertyreserve.com/?fees=true for which I have to pay a 0.50$ fees to show that my LR account is still alive. After the payment, I will receive ( the email spells it as recive) instantly the 100 usd in my LR account. I think it is a fake one to scam me. What’s your opinion about it?

There have been at least two discussions today on this exact subject: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2658997.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2659062.aspx Yes, it appears to be a phishing attempt. The URL begins with "sci" NOT "www". You should log in to your Liberty Reserve account by typing the correct URL into the browser. In addition, read this page: http://www.libertyreserve.com/en/home/consumeralert

If you'd visit the JBP website, you would see that they noticed their members that someone is sending out fake fraudulent emails to members claiming that he won a hundred bucks! So yeah, those emails are fake, but aren't sent by the JBP-website! To be honest, I don't even bother opening emails from JBP, because they're mostly about web conferences and that doesn't interest me. I simply delete the emails they send! Have a nice day!

I think it is a scam too so just don't respond to it. It's not worth it. I never heard of this site until today. As Owl said, there have been at least 2 other similar discussions to this one. Also there was someone on here spamming for this site all over the place this morning. I believe her account has since been removed but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Yes I have seen one of these too, I don't even have a Liberty reserve account. They are scams, just delete them/ mark them as spam. I deleted it earlier but I believe that liberty reserve was spelt wrong in the link too, with a 'z' instead of an 's' in the name which was another obvious give away.
