Yes, it really works ... and has done very successfully for the last six years. MyLot is 100% reliable in the way it works and in its payments. It works on two very simple principles:
- Whatever YOU type, you will earn for; whatever I type, I earn for.
- The more descriptive and relevant your discussions, responses and comments are, the more you will earn for them. If you only type a few words, you will earn nothing.
MyLot is a DISCUSSION site, so the object is to participate in discussions. It is no use posting a topic and then forgetting about it. It doesn't matter if you get a hundred responses, you will earn nothing more unless you can come back and reply to the people who respond with more than just 'thanks for responding' or something like that!
Please familiarise yourself with the Guidelines: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx If you don't, you are bound to have discussions and responses deleted and you will not earn anything for those.

Something that many newcomers tend to ask is "How much can I earn here?" and there is really no clear answer. It is up to you entirely and depends on how you make use of your time and how good you are at giving good quality responses and comments and at the art of discussion.
Most people who have been here for any length of time find that, if they worry less about the earnings and more about the business of 'discussing with quality', they actually earn more here than those who are here purely for the money. Many people spend just a few hours here every day and manage to reach the $10 minimum every month. A few make considerably more but I doubt very much that anyone makes more than, say $50 a month (though you will find some articles on the Internet claiming that and more!)
MyLot can be said to share its profits with us fairly, though the amount to be earned is a lot less than you would get 'per hour' or 'per word' for writing articles, for example. That is not really the point, however.
There is a lot of benefit to be had for many people from being a member of a lively community where the 'topic of conversation' is never as predictable as it is in some other kinds of forum. I find it stimulating, on the whole, to read what others are interested in and to add my own comments and advice where I can. It is also a great place to get ideas for articles and to practice writing. Many people also find it an effective way of improving their English.
You will find that most people here are very friendly and that moderation is good (but quite strict ... hence it is vital to understand the Guidelines). The Admin here goes by the name of GoAskAlice and you can see how he involves himself in discussions from his profile: http://www.mylot.com/goaskalice He logs in almost every day and is the ONLY person who has the authority to delete posts ... all moderation decisions are made by a real human!

It relly works. You should take active in discussions,completing tasks, uploading images. All the above drive traffic and they really work to get paid.

I've been a member of this site for 4 years and they have consistently paid me money whenever I reach payout. It's not much more than $10 a month because that's all I can really manage to type to earn, but it's more than any other message board or other money-making website has ever paid me. It took some patience in the beginning, lots of asking questions and reading back over the guidelines, but I soon figured out how to maximize my earnings. Stick with it, it works!

You have only joined hours ago; have a bit more patience and you will soon find out that it really works here as long as you follow the guidelines.
