Okay, this discussion is kinda long-shot but the Ombudsman hints that there might be another impeachment trial for the Chief Justice come December if it was warranted (her words, not mine) and possibly, if he was acquitted by the current Impeachment Court.
I do want to get your reaction if this does happen. Many people on the net are already complaining at the cost of the trial and the senator-judges are grumpy because this trial is interfering with their legislative work 9or possible campaign plans). Also, there is the idea that the court and the public might get 'court fatigue' or simply sick of monitoring or even listening to and about the trial.
So, if there will be another impeachment trial,m will you be sticking around to watch?

I really hope that will not happen jean. If it will, i am sure, it will not be watched anymore by the people, because they are tired of watching the previous trial.
And to think that this present trial of his is already getting into the nerves of the people as well as the senators. See, how angry Santiago is?

I agree with that. It is interesting but there are things that ca kill the interest over the issue.
Well, the people are expectation a smooth sailing trial and frankly, it seems that the seems have o direction at times. As Enrile said, it was kid of 'birthing pains'.

Not another impeachment again, please. To think that the Senate has more pressing matters to attend to aside from the impeachment proceedings. While I was one of those avid followers of the impeachment trail from day 1, I am not up to watching another trail this December and I think even the senators have had their fill of the impeachment. There are many bills pending like the Information Bill and the RH Bill and it is about time that the Senate pay attention to these bills. Would you appreciate our politicians grandstanding in the halls of the Senate just so that they will get the votes of the public come election day? God forbid, but not another impeachment in our life and certainly not another EDSA.

Well, that will depends on the House of the Representatives and their initiative to impeach someone. But I would be grateful if they would at least be prepared and follow the law they are supposedly making. Having power is not an excuse to be illiterate about the law and break the law as they see fit.
I'm not against impeachment as a process but the politicking and the media frenzy is something that i don't tihnk I can stomach again anytime soon.

Just learning that there would be another trial on December makes me mentally say "Not again..." but if they indeed would have another trial by that time, I would totally appreciate it if they can change the whole prosecution team. If they do, I'd probably watch/keep track of the trial.
Since I'm always at work and I seldom watch the full trial and rely on updates timely, I can only hear gist and pieces of information from the trial but from what I hear, I surmise that the defense team is way more prepared in handling this case. The prosecution, in my opinion, is not really ready whenever they go to the court.
My mom would commonly complain about Sen. Miriam Santiago's outburst. Yeah it's true that she always scolds people but when you think about it, there are some items in which she had points in.
Take note: I'm not a Miriam Santiago fan or follower :P

Well, the lady senator has her own exciting moments and she does have her points. I don;t think this impeachment proceedings will be as it is if she wasn't on it.
If there will be another impeachment trial, I guess some of the people will definitely change. I know that some prosecutors are lawyers and they didn't send their best but it's no excuse when you have a chamber of people who supposedly-understand the law and the power to impeach a government official.
I think the people will want accountability in their officers but maybe, we could lessen the media exposure of the trial. There are other issue worthy of the news and our attention.
