For those who don't think marijuana should stay illegal, what is your reasoning?

I've always asked myself why cannabis is illegal. I haven't ever gotten a solid answer that makes sense, backed up with evidence. It is safer to use than alcohol, and way less harmful to the body than tobacco. It's pretty much easy for anyone to buy it. For those who think it should stay illegal, why do you feel that way?
