I have a question for you guys about wolves.
I know wolves are very social animals, and that they travel in family packs, but I was wondering what the name for a lone wolf is. The only thing tht comes too mind is "rogue" but I'm not sure if that's right.
I know a rogue is someone who does what is not normal or expected of them, but is tha what lone wolves are called? Or are they simpy known as 'a lone wolf' ?
Thanks!!!!

Generally we call them lone wolves around were we are. They are extremely dangerous here and are often around our house and barn in the middle of the day trying to find an easy meal as they don't have a pack to hunt with they often will go after anything they find in hopes of a meal. We have to kill them here as I said they are extremely dangerous we had one try to get into our house at 4 in the afternoon trying to get our dog there are young kids around as well and to keep everyone safe they are usually shot on sight the pack that's here causes no problems though as they hunt the deer and normal game just the lone wolves who are desperate for food are the problem

I believe Lone wolf means the wolf that is the weakest of the pack. He or she is kicked out because they can not hold there ground with the other wolfs. Runts of wolves are normally not acceptable to the Alpha of the pack, they want all of there pack to be well able and strong for survive of not only themselves but the group.

I don't think there is a general specific term to associate to a wolf that is a lone, other than lone wolf. I suppose you could call a wolf who deserts its back for its own territory a rogue. Also this site here has great wolf videos. Very entertaining.

i really dont know what is the reason why some wolves gets introvert but maybe they were the runt of the pack so he or she is abandoned. I think lone wolves are just called lone-wolves. Its found out though that when a lone wolf meets a lonewolf of the opposite gender they start a new pack. I will just invent a term for them..... outsider wolf.
