I have decided to try and lose weight by cutting calories. Im worried Ill be hungry, but need to do something. I definatly dont want to get any bigger. Im hoping by talking about it in an open forum it will help me out. I can post my weight loss, set backs, etc and hopefully get positive results. This will take time, but better late than never. So here we go to hopefully shed some pounds. Any help is much appreciated. Im also increasing my water intake.

yah, my lot helped me to do away with blood pressure. I would say you eat properly but less in proper intervals. Do away with fatty- ready made foods and instead make your own foods even if it is a sandwich or salad. Your water intake is good. Don't starve yourself because starving means you could eat more next time. Hope I am not offending you. I will come up with more tips later.

No offense. Starving myself definatly not. Calorie counting. I make a lot of our food. Try to not eat out a lot. Just making myself aware of what I consume, how much and how much is in it.

for losing weight, you can do more exercise and maybe walking or running or playing some games. it is not right to eat little everyday. So long you insist and do some helpful tip, you can do that.i fully believe that. how do you think of that?

Right seem like gaining wait is easy than losing weight. Thou really lesser food intake can be a big factor and getting stressed really would be of help but of course we don't want to be stressed. I just don't force it to myself losing weight but sometimes it happened unexpectedly though at present I avoid much food and I do a little excerse.

It is really all up to you. Just be determined to cut off your calorie intake everyday. You can go slowly on this, reduce the amount of food you take everyday. In my case, if I had already eaten a large snack in the afternoon, I usually skip dinner. This way I don't pack in more pounds. Always be conscious of your food intake.

You hit the nail on the head. Being concious of my food intake. Looking at food more as fuel and not comfort. I have noticed when I see something I think about the calories and fat first and do I really want to eat that? I had company over and ate some apple pie, my stomach didnt like it. in fact I just felt off. I still do.

I had once gone to a nutritionist, what she advised me was to take with me fruits and vegetables that can be eaten raw. If ever we will get hungry during in between meals, we will just eat fruits and vegetables. Also we have to write what we have eaten. That was only what I had during my first consultation with the nutritionist because I had not returned on the next schedule due to lack of funds. Maybe if we will just follow what I had stated earlier maybe it will make us a bit slimmer. We also have to drink water generously.

Raw fruits and veggies are very good for you. This way your not cooking the nutrition out of them. We eat a lot of raw fruits and veggies. Except dinner I usually cook them. I wish you luck on your journey as well.

It is really hard loosing wight. Maybe you should stop counting on your calories intake as I have. Try eating in moderate and eat a little when you're hungry. Try an exercise for 30miniutes straight without exhausting yourself. This is what I do. :)

On the one hand it is quite easy gaining weight or adding up pounds to your body. On the other hand it is very tough going when it come to losing those extra pounds added to your body. The tendency to over eating is to be avoided if at all one is serious about losing body weight positively.

I have try several times to lose weight, but only once things works. At that time, I get up early in the morning and have morning exercises. Only have meat twice in a week, other times only have vegetables in the meals. And study very hard and sleep at 12 in the night. In that year, I lose more than 20 pounds. But soon, I find myself too tired to focus my attention on things I have to do. So I increase the sleep time, then my weight goes up as well. Now I almost give up any action to lose weight.

Are you using any type of system to help you (like fitness or nutritional)? Are you exercising or even just walking more (preferably in nature) will begin to help you feel better and clear your head....We all know that we need to reduce the processed junk and eat more whole foods (fruits, veggies and grains) but I also think you should (if possible) have a support person (or people) to join or help you on your journey. For instance, a walking buddy or someone who you can talk to, have lunch with and just like-minded to help you along your goal. I have a friend here on mylot who has had great success with herbalife and she has lost weight and now works with those products as a business. That may be an option. There are many options available. It's all about finding the right option for you. Wishing you much success!

Much success to you on your journey! Sounds like you have a good plan for getting more activity in your life. That's great that you have kids and dogs. Good companions for walking and playing outdoors! Changing things up will also help because the body can get used to (and adapt) to the same things when you do it over and over. Changing it up will help it guessing and help you by burning the maximum number of calories.

Thank you! I am trying to get out more. Also riding my stationary bike. So we try to go for walks a few times a week, ride the bike and go to the pool. Change things up. So moving more and watching what I eat more is my focus right now. Just to help get me on the right track. I dont really have anyone to join me, except my kids and dogs and they dont need to lose weight. One reason Im using mylot. Thank you for your tips.

Well, this is a thread particularly delicate. Which is why, I'm not being at all expert in the field, I do not feel qualified to comment much. I can only refer to the year 2010, when I have managed myself to decrease by almost ten pounds. I had no to force too much, however, in all ways I think that's a good idea, before starting a diet, ask your doctor or a nutrition expert.

Because we all have a body that works different. Stress, the way we eat, dna, age, pregnacies, hormones, medication etc all together influences the way we store fat or loose weight. Also you are only able to reduce the amount of fatcells in your body till the age of a teenager. After that it's only possible to make them shrink. This means that if you start losing weight as an adult you will still keep this high amount of fatcells and you will get "fat" easy. Also if your body is already able to function on very less energy you are not able to eat a lot. Some people will lose a lot of weight if they eat a lot of fat (which is laxating), others can count calores, the next group will only slim down while eating soup day in and out. To most of us it's a never ending struggle. Fit and great looking you will only be if you are able to accept yourself the way you are. Stress, boredom etc will make us eat (the wrong food) as well.

Yes, losing weight is so hard. I know how you feel, I've been there few years ago. Being overweight is really frustating to me, before I've tried all kinds of diet and exercise but nothing works, maybe because I am not following the rules and losing focus. Until one day my husband introduced to me his cousin who is a dietitian. She teach me how to eat right without starving myself and what is the right thing do when I am hungry. Her best adviced to me that I strictly followed are to cook my own food as much as possible and drink 10 to 12 glasses of water a day. She also said it is better to drink 1 glasses of water every morning after getting off the bed, it helps to rehydrate your body and also helps to stimulate your stomach to flush toxin in the body. Hope this will help. Good luck. God Bless.

You need to visit myfitnessplan.com, it helps you keep track of your calorie intake. The great thing about that site is that it asks about your lifestyle so if you're a pretty active person already your calorie intake won't be the same for someone with a low active lifestyle. Also, you could try to post everything you eat on your facebook or twitter so that you're more conscious of what you're eating. If you feel embarrassed about posting what you eat on either site, chances are you probably shouldn't be eating it so it might help motivate you to eat healthier. How many glasses of water are you intending to drink, I know they say 8 glasses a day but you if you want to lose weight you should drink a little more. When I lost weight originally I was drinking up to 12 glasses of water a day with no sugary drinks like soda or juice. You could also start a buddy system with a close friend or a family member who also wants to lose some weight so that you guys can push each other to stay on track.

One thing I think you should try is drinking a tablespoon of olive oil a day. It helped my uncle and we use to joke that he was 10 months pregnant. If you don't like the taste of straight olive oil you can use it to cook with to get your serving of it.

If you listen to the weight loss industry, you've been told over and over how easy it is to lose weight--just take this pill, follow that diet or buy this piece of equipment and everything will melt away in a flash. In fact, we spend over billions of dollars each year on weight loss products and services and yet we're still overweight. If you struggle with weight loss, as most of us do, you've figured out just how hard it is to lose weight. The question is, why is it so hard and is there anything you can do about it? There's no shortcut to weight loss, but you can make the process easier with a few simple changes.
