Care to look? Well, you shall! Below is a photograph of the highest section of the wall, all 17 and a half feet of it, with wallpaper on it at last! My FIL said he's never wallpapered a wall like it but he has enjoyed himself up to now as the wallpaper is easy to work with as it's a straight match and quite thick. I hope you can make out the shimmer in the embossed stripes in this wallpaper but it DOES have the effect I wanted up the stairs. It's brightened it up considerably. The wallpapering isn't finished yet but at least the most difficult bit has been done first. All we need now are some pictures on there and an awesome red carpet!

It is really an awesome wallpaper, which looks simple but elegant. Its shimmer reminds me of your blind which has silver stripes in it.They match well each other.I am surprised that your wall is 5.3 m high.Ours is usually less than 4 m.Perhaps your FIL now has to admit you are right in insisting on painting prior to wallpapering.

Too right lol. Glad you like the wallpaper. I'm amazed at the quality of it for the price. I've had samples of dearer wallpaper sent to me through the post and the quality of it has been poor in comparison. I guess there seems to be a stripey theme running through the house doesn't there? Haha!

Mirrored Console Table - I'd love a console table (& mirror) in the hallway. Not cheap though!
It sure will..and I'd love a mirrored console table with matching mirror at the bottom of the stairs too as there is room for them. Here is an example. Do you like the shimmer? Isn't it awesome? There are loads of different styles (and materials) you can get but this is about the nearest to what I'd want..not cheap though!

It seems that the wallpaper is quite satisfactory ,just the thing you want ,so you feel you get your money's worth, although it has been reduced further.I can imagine When you roll out the red carpet,it will contrast pleasantly with the wallpaper.

Wow,that looks really nice~ I wish I could do something about the wall in my bf's apartment. The rain has done some damage to it and it really doesn't look nice. However, both of us know there is nothing we can do about it. We have a cat and she really loves scratching the old wallpaper. So even if we put up a new one,she would destroy it soon enough. Anyway, hope you finish it soon and make it look real good~

Thanks very much. In our back bedroom we have a problem with a damp patch in the corner so any decorating in there would have to be on hold until that gets sorted out. It doesn't look like it spreads (as there are different types of fungi on walls) so I'm hoping that just a basic treatment will get rid of it, plus we need to sort out the guttering outside, which is why drops of water get into the bricks in the first place! We'd be on the go continuously with this house if we had the money!

It would be a good excuse to take the wallpaper off in THAT room wouldn't it? Just to see what the damp patch is like underneath. I'm not tempted though...not yet anyway!

Looks GREAT! I'm not sure I would've thought 17 and a half feet would be easy - but at least you had the nice FIL and not the crazy MIL around!

Thanks. The FIL is like a different man without her around..seriously! I like to buoy him up too. When he does a good job I let him know. I must've said "that's looking awesome" a dozen times but if it put a smile on his face (and I haven't stopped smiling since the paper went on) then the crawling is worth it lol. He knows I mean it too. Ariens don't heap on praise lightly!

I have to say I am not really a fan of wallpaper, but this paper is quite awesome. I love the plainness of it. And I do see the shimmer on it. Good luck with it. It also looks pretty easy to clean. And also what I ilk about it is that if you ever want to paint over it it could be done easily. If I were to have wall paper, I would want something like that. Simple and clean. Nice!! Enjoy it.

Thanks very much! Yes, it is paintable (and wipeable) so it's awesome value really. You're right about wallpaper in general. It's such a personal choice isn't it? All those huge flowers on wallpaper just don't do it for me. I'm not one of those people who has to go with the latest trends. I'm more individual than that..and don't get me started on words around the house. Have you seen them? LOVE and the like placed on mantelpieces or on walls. Personally, I can't stand them but each to their own, eh?

Wall paper is a personal choice. And I actually like your taste. I also like clean and simple myself. I also hate all those flowered papers, they seem way to busy for me. I don't know about the words personally, I don't think I would care much for them. But you seem to really like your choice. Enjoy.
