Hello there guys, I just wanna ask if those sitemaps and rss feeds are the same? Do they have the same roles in search engines? What can sitemaps do that rss can't or what can rss do that sitemaps can't? Please give me a clear answer about this things. I just tried to search this but all those results I search still makes me confused of what they are.

Nops.. RSS feeds and sitemaps are different concepts.. sitemap contains list of your pages that can be appeared on search engine.. it's a xml file with page title and priority tags. Where RSS feeds are like updates of your site. which contains title and description of your each page.. if someone subscribed to your rss feed they can get all updates of your site sitemap is mostly used for SEO while RSS is used for publicity of your website.

Hello lovedude, thanks for your response sir. But why rss feeds is acceptable in passing sitemaps? I just tried to submit the rss feed of my blog to the sitemap submitter of webmaster tool and didn't encounter any errors. Is it possible to submit rss instead of sitemap to the webmaster tool of search engines?
