Would You Rather Be An Employee or An Owner Of Your Own Business?

Having a business of our own seems to be likeable but it has many hassles. For one thing, if you are going to handle people. You are obliged to give them their salary, not to mention, provide them the necessary benefits. The problem here, some of your employees will not do their job well. If you won't need any people to supervise, you'll still have to promote your business, device marketing plans and you'll have to deal with the licensing every year and the taxes every month. I think being an employee is a lot easy, you'll simply do your work then receive your pay every month. Not too much planning here, meaning less stress. A lot of people wants to have a business on their own, but would you rather own one than be an employee for the rest of your life?

I would rather be the employee. I have been in an upper management position before and yes, I did get higher pay but it was way more stressful. Being your own boss will not always be higher pay but it will definately be higher stress.

If I can choose, I would want to be an employee in a big company with lots of benefits, with sound and fair rules and regulations.

We have our our reasons. I have nasty co-employers back then but I just know how to deal with then. My boss was a good employer, unfortunately he pays us so low. So I decided to quit my job back then. Anyway, good luck with your business.

For now I'd rather be an employee. I want to have the assurance every 15th and 30th to have a regular pay for what I do. However, I really want to someday own a business so I can manage my own time.

I bet all of us wants to have a business of our own someday. Unfortunately, mine wasn't planned. At first, I did miss the easy pay during 15th and 30th, then again I thought that is God has gave me this fate, I'll have to do good at it and hope for the best. Anyway, I did tell myself that I do not want to be an employee forever.

Very true, an employer has a lot of money than the employee but an employee can start a business of his own if wants. Then again, operating a business can be tough.

i agree with u in certain things like being an employee is Easy u can jus chill out and do u part of the job for the company get annual hikes, promotions, benefits etc etc... But being a owner of ur company or starting ur company is not an easy thing too much time, money is put into and like u said many employees do not do their job well and u still pay them full salary and perks and benefits and stuff like tht..! but still if ur looking ot start ur own company u can start some thing like a small online retail store tht sells some thing rare like handicrafts and stuff like tht and make good money with little investment..!

Even managing a small business can be hard. Its the promotion that counts. I own a small internet cafe without a cafe. Around here,we call internet cafes as PC shops. You know, last July my income was so slow, I have to device a gimmick. I gave a free candy for every hour pc use. My husband thought it was silly but it worked. How, I miss having my benefits when I was still employed. But, you know operating a business can be fun too.

If I have enough money I would put up my own business. It is better than working for someone. If we are employed, we help the company owner grow their wealth and business. While we are getting only enough salary or sometimes less salary from them. Yes we do enjoy getting paid monthly. But if we have our own business and it is a good business that earns well, then we actually get paid daily. Our bank account keeps increasing.

I agree my friend. But, having a business can be more challenging. While being an employee, we'll just have to wait for our salary, being a boss of our own, we would have to work out for new ideas to promote and make our business grow.

Hi phoenix! Personally, I would want to have my own business but I know I can't afford to have one right now. I am a permanent employee at the moment but I know I would be happier if I have my own.

Aries1973, I bet you are not afraid to take on challenges and definitely, you are someone who is a boss type, at least of your own. That's the beauty of not being employed by anyone, being the boss of our own :)

well it depends on one's decision... i also think being an employee is lot more easier....

It also depends on the company, on how cite their demands. Some are just OK. I'd been in a private one, in a small clinic with a pharmacy. No work, no pay. It had been fair and I had day offs almost anytime I want. They do not require inventories, even the money. They don't care if its tally with their stocks. My bosses were really nice people. But, what I didn't like about it was the salary... so low. So, after 8 years of working for them, I decided to resign.

Owning a business is like being a boss. That's why i'm really not into it. As a low-esteemed person, I don't think i can manage stresses. I can't even lead or direct a person.I'm also afraid of taking risk which is an important aspect for an entrepreneurs. So I would rather be an employee rather than an entrepreneur....

I can relate to that. I prefer to be an employee, however things have been settled for me. So I might as well accept it and try to be successful.

It is depend on your ideal and character, the opportunity and environmental science are also very important of course.Yes,just as you said, being an employee is a lot easy, but i prefer to become boss,or be engaged in freedom of occupation. As for me,freedom is the most important thing.

I guess you can be a better boss than I am. But, I think things will go work for me since I have no employees. I am no a good boss, you see - I'm too nice. As for freedom, definitely I can agree with you. Then, again we are our own captain, so whatever happens to our ship ... err, business we go with it first :)
