Do you love the smell of hospital?

I have a friend who hates the smell of hospital. One time she was really sick and there is nothing that her parents could do but to bring her to the hospital, however she refuses because for her it smells like death in there. I am wondering how is she able to tell the smell of death?
I am not sure what she means by that but for me hospital smells like alcohol which is just okay.
How about you? do you like the smell of your hospital? Or do you hate it just like my friend does?

I hate the hospital's smell too, it is really horrible and i can be sick after that because of it. I used to stay in the hospital 2 days to care my dad when he got sick...but honestly...i can't stand being longer in there. If not because of my dad staying in there, i never never go to hospital...
When i am sick i just stay at home only...i think i have to go to hospital when i am in heavy sickness only...normally, i try to avoiding staying in hospital.

Hello ryanong, I only go to hospital as needed but I do not really hate the smell of it. Maybe because I got used to it since I worked in one before. But yes, there are people like you would rather stay at home if their sickness is bearable.

Hello friends, yes the smell sometimes hurts my nose too, but I do not really hate it at all. I just wish they use scent which can combat its usual smell that can be sickening at times.

Hi!
I do not like the smell in the complex of hospital as it is very pungent and repelling smell and make me feel uneasy. This may be due to use of lots of medicines/blood/injections and left over sundries.

Hello friend, yes, indeed those are just some of the reason why some hospital have that smell hence there are people who isn't really that happy with the smell.

Hello ally12, yes I think it is not just the smell that makes the hospital perceivable as not really a place to like. I like that it has the equipment to cater to those who are sick though

Hello TheJinu, just like you I used to spend a lot of time in the hospital and instead of being bothered by the way it smells and feels, I somehow get used to it so it really does not matter to me anymore

I can relate with your friend why she can say such thing.
I also do not like the smell of hospital.
I can't stand the smell and made me feel more sick.
In some cases that I need to visit a family member or friend- well, I have to, but I admit I don't like to look after the patient and sleep over.
But, of course, there are times that I need to.

Hello jaiho, it is my friend's dilemma having to visit hospital whenever she has relatives or friends admitted to the hospital because she will be forced to stay and sometimes sleep over.

I have never liked the smell of a hospital. It is just too antiseptic and sterile. the medicine smell just takes over your senses.t just has that smell that you just can't escape or ignore. It is not a smell that you ever incur anywhere else.

Hello Lady,
I really don't like the smell from the hospital.I can't stand those medication brings out odour and so much like its suffocating.
And personally if possible I can't stay longer in the hospital because of that awful smell.I may get sick more of it.

Have you even been admitted in hospital for more than 10 days? if yes then you could have mean what your friend has told. I have spent complete 15 days in hospital after my surgery and Yuck! it smell like hell, they clean the floor of hospital with weird smelled floor cleaner. More than that the weird feelings inside the hospital is really scary, as many people is dying there .

Hello Kajal, when I was a teen I spent one month in the hospital because of an accident. I guess it depends on the person. Instead of hating it, I get used to the smell and the feeling of inside the hospital. Also I used to work in one and I guess it also made all the difference.

How did she describe the smell? I'm not quite sure about the hospital's smell. I guess it's the smell of medicine or something. The smell doesn't really bother me. I am a nurse and for three years of having duties in the hospital, it's smell doesn't make dislike the place. I kind of miss the place though.

I know the smell of the hospital was kinda weird, maybe because of different kinds of fluids, discharges and people inside the hospital which cause of that smell. Also I think we dont like the hospital smell because we know many sick people who are there and we might get sick too. To be honest am working in the hospital and I admit at first I dont like the smell but I get used to it because this is part of my job and my life.

Hi nikki3, I am sorry to hear about your mother. But is she okay now? I think memories has something to do with it as well. We tend to associate some smell with the events that it reminds us of.
