http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=809742&publicationSubCategoryId=63 I like the title of this article - "A teleserye with a bad script." I was actually thinking it was referring to one of the soap operas with a bad review. I was surprised to find out it was about Chief Justice Renato Corona's scripted drama during the impeachment trial. When will this ever end. I won't be surprised if this long and winding road will never get to the right destination. So many powerful people clashing on their views and throwing tactics to get what they want. I wonder what the Filipino nation will get from all this waste.

yeah.. i am tired of this too- it has been going on for to long, i am not really sure if he is guilty or not.. but it would be nice i it is going to be over soon. I hope Corona would not get "sick" again and tell the truth.

So those medical doctors had finally decided to let him attend the trial now? Jeanneyvonne, even though tired of politics already, it's my business to know what is happening at the court--this helps me decide whether I would wish to stay here in the future and be squeezed by fools or go out and die along the way due to some crashes or freak accidents of nature. --Seriously, I just want to know what our current government is up to in order to be able to build myself defenses in what they tend to do. The government is always my enemy in terms of getting myself something that is my right and due to me such as wages AND time to spend in luxury.

I echo your sentiments, lady. I guess I am tried of monitoring this brouhaha. Not that I am not after what really happen but there are so many side issues that it is hard to keep up. I personally don't want to hear or read ay Corona-related news item. Trial fatigue, I guess.

I was in our hometown yesterday for my father's birthday. We all watched the Corona impeachment in the living room. The moment Corona started his speech, my father who is a retired judge said " i was a strong believer of Corona. But his giving this speech made me angry with him, because as an CJ he shouldn't be doing that, but just let the course of the investigation show that he is innocent, if it's the case.". It was indeed a face saving speech for Corona, in the end showing his arrogance that he is the CJ and should already be excused. He could have said i am not feeling well anymore, can i please be excused? What an arrogance indeed!

Does your father know anything about the real story behind all this drama?

No. He has been retired for about 10 years now. So, Corona wasn't the CJ yet. But the way he told me, that as the CJ, Corona should have been respected. But i refuted him for that, because i said why would he be so in favor of Arroyo, for giving that TRO, that triggered this impeachment, if he isnt grateful to Arroyo for nothing?

I guess he did get the respect from the senator judges as promised by Senate President Enrile. But, it was him who didn't respect the rules of court and just walked away like that. He's just unbelievable.

I'm a Filipino and I agree. This trial is a complete waste of time for those senators and the Supreme Court. The reason is because they are taking down each other one by one. I do not mean the challenge the Chief Justice initiated. But the government's tendency to make a person look bad time and again. Seriously, I am tired with their pathetic politics. I won't waste my time hoping that the government will change too as it will do its best to destroy good people and make their names bad for forever. Especially now. I just hope that many will survive from their futile little wars but even this hope seems won't be fulfilled. Yep, I think there's no hope anymore for this country of mine.

Indeed because in order to make a change in this country, each and every one of us should learn to change our way of thinking and living. But of course, we cannot force everyone how to think, so that dream of "change" for most is close to impossible. An example of a good change would be people not anymore depending on the government. WE cannot depend on the government or expect something to change because that's a gamble that we often lose.

I guess change, whatever from that many be, will still not be on our shores anytime soon. I am simply saying that it is hard to initiate change much alone maintain it. Like you, I tihnk I was already disillusioned in this countrymen, especially when it comes to politics and politicians. appropriately that the only thing the people in government or people who aspire to be in government are good at. And people wonder why sometimes I don't wish to pay my taxes. Even the exercise of suffrage is no-brainier - just elect who's popular. I guess this country, if change do come,s till have a long way to go.

We can always decide to change and improve ourselves, and have direct effects - good or bad, on our lives. We need not wait for these gov't officials to lead the way, because it surely won't happen tomorrow. And, even if there will be changes happening in the government, we would not likely feel its effects on us that much.

I just want to add, there is a threat that Corona will never be placed again on the witness stand. It's the usual act of corrupt officials - pretending to be sick of a tough disease and doctors restraining him from going to the court. My hope for this case was gone long time ago...and now I somewhat feel ashamed of being a Filipino.

Despite the sickness, he had undergone questioning on the witness stand and still, I'm not satisfied with the result. All he has done was mere attempt of gaining the SYMPATHY of the people in the area.

Well, he hasn't even undergone the cross examinations, and yet, he already got sick. I hope the doctors would not allow any corruption done on their professional career, by hiding the real condition of Corona. He needs to face the court and the Filipino people. He should know better, since he is the highest official in the judiciary department.

So, he wasn't able to give substantial answers to the cross examinations?

Yes, it was really "A teleserye with a bad script". I don't not know which side you are, jureathome but for me CJ Corona should not have been appointed by Gloria Macapagal Arroyo... it was really a midnight appointment.

I am for what is right. And, litigations like this to any high ranking official is a healthy for the government. However, its sad to note that they always have a way of evading from it. It was pretty clear right from the start that he was just used by ex-Pres Arroyo. His appointment to Chief Justice was planned to protect her. Too much politics can really kill the community.

"A teleserye with a bad script." is indeed a good catchy title Anyway, I am also wondering when this will ever end. Too many drama are shown on the television already and now this adds to the fair. I just hope that this will end having the Filipino people wins at the end.

I guess he already signed the waiver, but I don't know what the court will do with it at this point.
