Is Ryback the new Goldberg?

I can't help but to notice that the crowd often chants "Goldberg" When Ryback is wrestling. I think it is a stupid idea to try and recreate Goldberg. Who do you think would be good competition for Ryback? Everyone is tired of seeing him come out and squash No-names. I want to see what the guy has got. Put him against Lord tensi, or Brodus clay or something. One of these guys needs to get beat. All these winning streaks are stupid. Especially if they always fight wimps that most people don't even know who they are. And why do they always have guys like the Miz and alex ryley putting over these guys?

hi dansazz. first off, welcome to mylot. make sure to abide by the site's rules and regulations and you'll be fine. always check the FAQs if you're unsure about something or better yet, contact the site admin to clarify things. moving on to your discussion, the first thing that i thought of when i watched ryback for the first time was goldberg. the physique, the look, hell, even his in ring moves remind me of goldberg. i think the wwe creative team has ran out of ideas hence they are recycling old storylines and even previous ideas/personalities for wrestlers. agree about your point on winning streaks... it doesn't mean a thing and doesn't have much weight if it was against jobbers and no name local athletes. i remember mr. perfect curt henning had an impressive win streak back then. anyway, ryback seems to be an average wrestler so far. haven't heard him on the mic so can't comment on that. hopefully, he gets to feud with other legit superstars and midcarders plus he gets a legit storyline going for him. hopefully, a title shot and perhaps a title reign is offered the guy. wwe needs a shot in the arm and they can only do that if they develop new talent and get these new wrestlers involved in storylines and feuds. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

Yah well I think that they should push talented wrestlers and not big strong guys with very minimal skills

People are chanting Goldberge on every match that he have, he looks like a Goldberge in Rob Van Damme's singlet. They should have got him grow hair on his head, maybe he would have looked different. By far WWE have too many monsters, I have nothing againts monster wrestlers, But its only good when there is only 2 of them, 1 face and 1 heel. WWE have too much monsters now.... Ryback Tensai Brodus Clay Cesaro Heel Big Show too many monsters...

Well I don't even consider Brodus Clay and Cesaro monsters, but yah they need to do something else with them. I was glad big show is a heel, it's the only thing he can do, he is so lame as a face. They need to do something different with all of them its not even interesting.

this may sound weird but the only new wrestler I appreciate now are,,,, Damien Sandow..... he will be a better comedy wrestler than Brodus Clay, He is a Heel Wrestler that uses Diva movesets and finishers... I am so Happy that Christian is Face again, I am so annoyed when they turned him heel and gave him a coward gimmick. back to the topic,I heard Ryback and the other 4 Monsters might undergo in a Fatal 4 way. They turn big show into a heel cos Mark Henry is over, then WWE dont want the sloppy Great Khali Khali to turn heel cos they want ratings in India.

As far as i understand, Ryback is the new Goldberg. The guy is undefeated. His squash matches are good too. Considering now that he is a title contender.

Maybe it was pure accident that the WWE made this guy appear to be like Goldberg. I remember reading that Vince McMahon wanted Ryback to be the No. 2 babyface. So, who knows if that will happen in the next three years. I have no problem with three big squashers right now (maybe Damien Sandow is another one?). Around 2008, the IWC complained how the WWE lacked squash matches, but now that the company has them, the IWC still complains.

We didn't want them in massive excess. Thats WWE's problem. Too much or not enough of something. I doubt that ryback was an accident, that's why the fans chant goldberg cause they are not stupid.
