What is the big deal about the Kardashians?

I am more curious about the people who watch this program than watching the Kardashians. And their inane chatter. What have they done that we should want to watch them on television? Have they won a Scrabble tournament or a literary prize? Their only claim to fame is that their father was one of the lawyers for OJ. What have they achieved?

I didn't even know who Kim Kardashian was when her name just popped on yahoo news. But then iread she had a scandal or something, and now her entire family is famous? I watched a bit of that show and found it boring, they just bicker with their mom.

Good for you that you did not even know. They are famous for their late father being friends with OJ Simpson at the time of the trial. In other words they are famous for knowing someone else who has fame and notoriety and for acting out against their mother on television. The networks are desperate and any junk will do.

I have never seen that show, I even canceled cable TV some years back, but I think this is only one more simpthom of the lack of serious values and positive role models in today´s society. Television, specially this entertaiment programs, are so full of people, men and women whose only achievment if you want to call it this way, is to have a pretty face or body, as if it will last forever. Unfortunately, reallity shown about famous people, sells, and it seem that the stupider, the better.

i so agree with you! these people seem to be spoiled rich people that don't really have much of a life. it is too bad that people these days worship people like this instead of the real heroes that do awesome stuff every day.

Ah, the glorified overhyped celebrities that society in general seems to eat up with a spoon. People who are famous for being famous and really nothing more. But that's just the way things work sometimes. Obviously there are people that are sick of them out there, there will be always be people who are sick of people and the hype that they receive. Of course, by not talking about them, they'll eventually go away. But people have to keep talking about them, so they continue to exist right in the public eye. And the fact is that everything they do is nothing but a cheap publicity stunt, to hang right onto their fifteen minutes of fame, which should have ran out a long time ago. But they continue to exist in the mainstream.

This will be the last conversation about them. I just had to get it off my chest.

I wish they would get off the darn TV, sick of hearing them when they happen to "pop" up on TV. I won't ever watch their shows on purpose, especially not after the Kim Kardashian "faked" wedding, that was so bogus. They haven't done a thing.
