Indonesia Thomas Cup team had to swallow the bitter pill because it was eliminated in the quarterfinals. Forces "Red-white" tragically defeated by Japan with a score of 2-3 on Wednesday (05/23/2012). Indonesia the third single, Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka, failed to meet expectations of the country badminton lovers since losing two straight games 14-21, 19-21 of Takuma Ueda. Signs of the destruction of Thomas team is already seen as the main doubles Markis Kido / Hendra Setiawan gave 16-21, 18-21 of Noriyasu Hirata / Hirokatsu Hashimoto. After the second single turn defeated Taufik Hidayat 12-21, 17-21 of Kenichi Tago. In fact, Indonesia opened this game with a 1-0 advantage when the first single, Simon Santoso, is two games 22-20, 21-14 over Sho Sasaki. Although the second doubles, Mohammad Ahsan / Alvent Yulianto Chandra, can be an equalizer for a 2-2 victory thanks to the 21-17, 21-13 over Hiroyuki Endo / Kenichi Hayakawa, but finally had to lift a suitcase Indonesia nevertheless. On the deciding party, Hayom play in a high pressure and unable to provide maximum resistance. 23-year-old player looks completely wrong, so perform or facilitate the opponent's unforced errors to give the mortal blow. Thus, Japan has the right to step into the semifinals. In the last four tournament men's team event, Japan will face the winner between host China against Malaysia, who will fight tonight. Indonesia is now hoping to Uber Cup team, who play tonight. Again, the Japanese will be the opponent.

Personally, I think the whole of the Indonesian team needs to be revamped and they need to start scouting and developing new talents. In the singles department, Taufik Hidayat is definitely past his prime, while other younger players like Simon Santoso and Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka are good but are still yet to display consistency. In the doubles, top Indonesian pair Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan used to be a force to be reckoned with but as of late they have been showing a dip in form. Well, it seems some of the other Asian countries are really stepping up, such as Korea, Japan and Taiwan, so Indonesia will have to do likewise.
