Here in the Philippines, we have a budget airlines, called Cebu Pacific which throws in big discounts on airfare both for domestic and international flights. We always check out their website for new offers, and also signed up for email alerts. They sometimes give the famous "zero-fare" sales, where all you need to pay for is the tax. Their slogan says "Every Juan can Fly." And, it's true. They are able to make more Filipinos travel around the country and the world. I hope their business continues to succeed so they can give more great offers to the Filipino people.

It has been repeatedly discussed by Ted Failon the shortcomings though of airlines with regards to tickets under promos. They will be suddenly cancelled because there are few passengers for that particular trip and most of them are of promo rates. Besides, there are i think some additional charges.

Yes, although, there is a trade off. You can't really expect utmost customer service from the staff if you pay less for your fare. That's the downside of budget airlines. And, there will be frequent delayed or cancelled flights. Well, I don't really mind substandard customer service if its just a 1 or 2 hours flight. But, for long trips, I'd go for the better ones to ensure my safety and convenience.

Some cheap airlines are good, some I think take it a bit too far. I don't mind airlines like Norwegian (the local cheap airline) but Ryanair takes it a bit too far for my liking. Fines if you forget to bring a printed ticket, no responsibility if they mess up the time but you can't come 1 minute late, giving airports other names to make them sound more central. I travelled with Ryanair from Stockholm in Sweden once, except it wasn't Stockholm but somewhere way out into the district, several hours with bus.

There is one shortcoming is that sometimes the airlines also delayed. But honestly, not be too far, most time they will arrieve on time.Every country has such advantages,so mostly makes our trip more convenient.

Actually, my experience with flights is that the less I've paid, the more likely it is to be late :-) But then I've never planned anything the same day as I've had flown with Ryanair. The two times I've been really stuck it was something wrong on Heathrow (stuck in Copenhagen) or some kind of strike on in Norway (stuck in Amsterdam).

In my life I can think of a few times when I have got really cheap flights. Easy Jet and Ryan Air are the best known no frills airlines from the United Kingdom. I went to Sardinia, Italy and Riga, Latvia on Ryan Air. I went to Faro in Portugal on Easy Jet. Best of all I have been on First Choice Airlines, a holiday airline that do charter flights. These have been ideal for an airfare only 14 nights trip. I went on them to Cancun in Mexico in 2006 and the year before to the Maldives. All that way for just two hundred pounds. Now it is increasingly hard to get cheap flights. Higher airport security measures and more expensive fuel makes it harder for the airlines to offer cheap prices. The airport tax prices these days shock me. Going to Argentina for my family the airport tax was more than one thousand pounds. That was going long haul on a good quality airline. The budget airlines have extra costs for hold baggage and check in these days. On my last budget airline trip I could take one piece of luggage weighing up to 15 kilos for free. They had free check in back in 2006.

Because the price is cheap,so i think there are also some small restrictions ahead us.As you said that the cheap airlines always limit several kilos than those not.And sometimes the flight being delayed and maybe not good servise as those domestic ones.Anyway,i do always support cheap airlines and hope they can help more people spend less money on transportation fee.

Cheap air lines play an important role for travelling. It is very difficult for the people like us to travel a long distance through plane at a high cost. There comes the importance and significance of such planes. Such planes help us people to afford the cost of travelling.

I have nothing against budget airlines. It has enable more people to fly which otherwise they may never have any chance to travel by airplanes because of costs. Consequently, although understanable, we cannot expect the same level of services we get from taking non budget airlines. But I don't really mind not being served meals, having smaller seats, or not getting all the other extra perks if I could really save some money. Especially for short flying time, we can do with just basic service as long as the airlines do not compromise on safety regulations...

It is really nice that there are cheap airlines since you can really save on them such as their promos. But usually it requires very early booking and of course first come first serve. So better to look out for those promos they will going to have for you to vail for it until sets are all sold. ;)
