My favorite primetime series is about to end..and what next?

I'm saddened by the thought that my favorite primetime soap opera only has this week and next on the air. I have really enjoyed watching every episode of it. I'm talking about the local soap opera, "Legacy". It's not heavy drama, and it's not dragging like most of the other programs. I wasn't expecting it to end very soon. Although, it's already been around for 4 months, which is the regular time span of a soap. I had hoped it would run longer, since the story can still be elaborated without boring the viewers. Now, it seems that they're rushing to end the story, and I hate it. The bad thing is, I don't like the trailers of the upcoming soaps that will replace it. What do you do when your favorite soap has ended? Do you switch to another network's soap or just move on with the new program?

I am not used to watch soap operas because some of I think good ones where being aired late night already. I would rather sleep than waiting for it. But once, I love to watch soaps. Whenever it ended, I just go on the next soap that will replace it. Good to start one soap from the beginning rather than going on to the other soaps in other stations that you don't have idea how it started. This is what the business does, when the soap does not rate anymore or only few products supports them (thru commercials), they will find a way to end it as soon as possible and replace it with other one.

I don't think that is the reason for this particular soap for ending. I heard it got good ratings and even won an award. I think they just really have scheduled running time for each soap they air. Here in the Philippines, soaps don't really stay too long. There are Korean teleseries running on local channels, and those with an epic storyline usually lasts a long time, but, its not like that for Filipino teleseries.

You got a point there, sometimes, when the season allocated to them is near on its end, they make a fast track of the story to end it. Before, soap opera does not ends so fast. One example is Mara Clara which really aired for more than 10 years I think. When the telenovelas started to air, like Marimar and other starred by Thalia, which really stays for not more than a year, Philippine soaps became shortened too.

I don't think Mara Clara lasted for 10 years. Judy Ann Santos would not look the same if it did. I think they also shortened the running period of soap operas because they want to give something fresh and better everytime. But, for programs that really get high ratings, like Amaya in GMA, they had it extended.

Oh my, jure we share the same favorite teleserye "Legacy". I like it so much that whenever i wasn't able to watch an episode because of a late night dismissal from my work, i would watch it online the next day. And i must agree that it's not the same plots as those teleseryes, corny love story. I do switch channels just to have a fave teleserye at night as i am resting. The other time, it was Minsan Lang Kita IIbigin. When it was ending, i searched for a replacement and got myself Legacy. After Legacy, i think there's no interesting teleserye anymore. I guess, i will just do mylotting.

If I don't like the new soap, I guess I'll just spend more time on myLot. That's a good idea, simplyd. I don't like the actors on the other show on ABS. And, I hate heavy drama stories. Legacy was really different and I hope they make something like that again.

For the character, I like Diana. For the actress, I really enjoy Alessandra's very effortless way of bringing the role. The 3 of them are just perfect for their roles, I should say. I actually missed that part of reading the will, but, I saw from the trailers earlier that she was part of it. What were the specifics on the will, though?

Oh, so it really is ending soon. Since they did know that Natasha is not his real granddaughter.. I am so excited how it will end. I don't like the upcoming shows either, i don't even like Luna Blanca.. But at i still watch some shows in abs cbn.

Yes, sadly it will end by next week. The story seems to be fast tracked right now. I think Diana and Inigo's love story lacks substance because its not given time to flourish. They could have given it a good twist there. I really think they could still make it a longer story, without getting dragging or boring.

I was hardly upset when my favorite series 'lie to me' discontinued last summer what I did since then was I did not visit that tv program no more and I am surprise with myself that I can stand up to this day not even try to see what's in that tv program anymore. I guess I really was upset with them and I really live the show.

Oh my, sorry for the response above. It was for my other topic. I think I wrote on the wrong page. I have two windows for myLot and I got confused due to the bad connection that wipes out the page every once in a while. Anyhow, I wanted to say that you must be really disappointed about the cancelled show to have totally avoided that network. Was there any good reason why that happened? I heard there are many series being cancelled in the US.
