in my previous discussion, i asked there if is it appropriate for the employee to ask their boss regarding with their salary increase. my colleague here chatted our boss the other day and he replied yesterday. we we're upset especially me of his response. One of his rules is every three months he will increase our salary. and i've been here for one year and five months to be exact. and i've just learned that he will just see this december whether to increase us or not. Do you think this is fair???

It is really upsetting especially if he has that rule of increment on salary every three months or so.I think you better remind him of that rule that he said.If you have any contract or memo that you have signed regarding that, well you have the right to asked salary increment.

it's sad to say that we don't have signing contract or memo. he just said it verbally. and this rule is just new and he didn't tell us. until such then we decided to chat him. and from that, we learned that he'll just see this december whether to increase us or not

If you have a contract and the it was stated there then you can demand an increase based on what you have agreed upon. But if not, sad to say it will be hard as you are just holding on to the words of your boss. That is the difficult part of being an employee, the boss will promise so many things when they want to get you and when you are in, they will forget what they say. Though there are still some who stand by their words.

that is so true shylade. but in fairness to my boss, he is true to his words cause last year i received salary increase twice. but after that increased never heard and never received salary increase anymore. and as what i've mentioned earlier, we just learned yesterday that he will just see this December whether to increase us or not.
