hi friends.just out of curiosity. on one of the discussion, one of my friend said whats wrong with fixing if it can give some of the high adrenalin pumping matches.pretty much like WWE. we saw 43 runs scored in 2 overs,14 runs in 3 balls,2 six of last ball finishes and i am pretty sure these matches must have increased your heart beat to 150+. these kinda matches makes you want to watch every game. but if you get a news that majority of the IPL matches were fixed so they can collect huge amount through betting.would you still watch those games with same enthusiasm? would you still appreciate a gayle sixer or just comment 'he is bowling so gayle could hit that six'? will you applaud a century or just' they let him'? your thoughts plz. BTW i have quit watching IPL at exactly 10:15 pm yesterday. so no more IPL matches or discussion for me.lost my taste. probably my final IPL discussion.

Lol.i never said i will quit starting or commenting on cricket discussion.just ipl alone.this is my last ipl discussion and good thing its almost over.you asked me why.the one word i kept hearing during all ipl seasons was bookies.at first i didn't care.but after there allegations i started to think. I fought a lot with my parents because i hog the television for 3 hours everyday and even forgot to study but was it worth it? the last straw was the super kings news.i am suddenly not sure i am getting the correct return for my emotional investment.besides it wont be long before one of the cricketers i respect might get caught in the sting operation.more importantly i dont like being a fool any longer.

fair enough stardustcdsd. i for one wished that i paid attention to ipl and started betting on it especially with inside knowledge that games are being fixed. lol! i don't have the slightest clue how cricket is played and i probably placed two bets on the sport in the five plus years that i'm betting. my bosses who are brits watch the game and are passionate about it as much as they are with football. always wanted to ask them how the game is played but i don't want to appear to be the clueless one although i am. lol! i'm looking forward to your cricket discussions stardustcdsd. i'm sure i'll learn a lot from it. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

I am no good about betters but I know a lot about good batters and bowlers, so in case you ever want to discuss a point with specialists about this game you can find it from me. I am sure I could help you in playing department as I am an ex-university player. I hope, I could be of some help.

When people watch WWE what is wrong in watching fixed match? Anyway I am not Watching IPL matches, just read it in newspaper or on TV news. I very much believe that many matches are fixed. And the whole IPL format aims the money. It is a money game and prime income source for BCCI. IPL is giving training for youngster on the topic how to fix matches?? Players don't play for their nation or place, just play for money, so what is wrong in fixing when play for money.. And surely, even if some one bowl a lose ball, still Gayle have to hit it hard to cross the boundary. So surely fixed matches also can be enjoyed. But I am not supporting any of team in IPL, so it doesn't matter for me who wins and who loss. It is just a money game and surely it will be fixed..

BTW, it was me who made that remark. And I still stand by my remark that at times it is more fun watching it than soap operas and boring movies. But of course, these are allegations and nothing really is proved. But there will always be players who might be willing to throw matches for money, but that is basic human emotion called as greed and there are many who will succumb to this temptation. Cheers! Ram

Heya ! Few years back, I guess during the IPL season 3 itself, I stopped watching IPL. And the reason for it is the same as yours. A few news channels started showing up that the IPL matches are all fixed. I was a die hard Deccan Chargers fan but when it lost badly in the third season, I lost all the hope for it to win again ! :( IPL would have been fun to watch only if the matches weren't fixed and were being played in a fair way. But now that it is not being played that way, what is the use of watching such a match! Hi5 ! ;)

very much the same here friend. Cant see matches like this. That too cant agree everything going with CSK. Six of the last ball, three consecutive opponent lose, two play offs win, just cant accept. Delhi on the other hand left morne out, irfan out, sehwag bowling when vijay was at full swing, sehwag came at one down, warner dropping a catch. Just dont want to see this ipl anymore.

Who knows how many matches were fixed. Its a big risk to watch cricket anymore,IPL or any other. These fellows are only interested in making quick money and have no respect for the sentiments of the cricket fans

In this IPL I did feel weird, mainly CSK making it to the playoffs did sound wrong as 3 other teams had a chance of getting through but didn't make it. From that on I started thinking about different matches ended with teams come out with a win in unlikely situation, if I am not wrong I think in this IPL had more number of individual 100's than the previous IPL, all this made me think that there were fixed. I don't think the match fixing in IPL will ever be proved, but it does make loose interest in IPL ..

Look stardustcdsd- They are out there to earn money betting or batting. They are getting hefty money either way. And they know this is possible here in our cricket playing countries without much trouble. Who knows this is not going on in other big leagues of different games where big money is concerned. How would you describe some of the car races and boxing bouts which go totally against the expected lines? Cricket is game of chance but games where skill is prime factor, there too you can see results obviously proving you wrong altogether. So there is no difference in horse racing, horse trading and results of some of the sports.
