youthful OKC player versus big 3 veteran player of spurs. i think OKC can't make it to Finals, they have to roll and take more 3 season to make it to finals.

first off techntikal, welcome to mylot. as long as you abide by the mylot rules, you'll enjoy your stay here. read the FAQs and guidelines so you know the dos and donts of the site. going back to your discussion, we have a really good western conference finals. we have the young oklahoma city thunder that defeated the defending champs in the dallas mavericks and a perennial western conference powerhouse in the los angeles lakers going up against the championship pedigree of the san antonio spurs who are riding an 18 game win streak by breezing through a team with no real identity in the utah jazz and a two man team, lob city's finest, the los angeles clippers. i'm a betting man and i definitely am looking at this series as i think it'll be a closely fought one with a lot of opportunities to bet on. it's definitely going to be a high scoring match, something that has been a staple at previous western conference matches. i think it'll be a six game or seven game series with the spurs edging out the thunder. let me say that i have gone on record and said that i think it'll be miami and oklahoma fighting in the nba championship. in fact i already locked my bets for both teams to win the nba championship when the season started. as much as i like to place a bet on the spurs to win the nba championship, i'm still looking for a book with the best price available. now breaking down the series,i'd like to look at a couple of factors. looking at experience, the advantage definitely goes to the spurs. that team has won more championship games than the combined playoff season wins by the thunder. aside from kendrick perkins and derek fisher, no one in the oklahoma team has championship experience. the spurs have the championship poise and they have been here before so they know what it takes to win. let's look at the star players, the oklahoma thunder have a formidable duo in both kevin durant and russell westbrook. kevin durant is clutch and a very good closer. at anytime, when the game is close,he can sink the game winning basket and steal one from the spurs. westbrook on the other hand is a good scorer but is nowhere near as good as a point guard compared to parker. the spurs have the big three in tim duncan, manu ginobli, and tony parker. that is as lethal as any three player combination in the league right now. another important thing to note is that all three are well-rested and are 100%. going to the bench, spurs have an advantage at depth. diaw, stephen jackson, leonard and almost anyone from the spurs bench can hit the outside shot when given the free look. i'd like to see what the okc defense will do to contain tim duncan. they can throw ibaka and perkins against him but i'm sure timmy can get his points or give the ball to his teammates for an easy score. looking at the coaches, it's a definite advantage to popovich. not taking anything away from scott brooks but the early entry of the spurs in the western conference finals gives coach pop a lot of time to prepare for this series and map out a game plan against kd, westbrook, and the rest of the thunder. anyway, i think we are in for a great series. true and casual fans alike will enjoy this one.too bad this isn't the nba championship already. see you around the discussion boards and happy mylotting!!!

after the last game of LA Lakers and OKC thunder, all their fans in and out of the stadium give their full support for their team OKC, causing the whole lakers team to stress in the whole game. let see if those crowd fans of OKC can overtake the big three of spurs and their bench player is also great in shooting. but for now, maybe their finals will end to 4-2 in favor of spurs ^_^ they are too young to The Finals compare to the big three of san antonio spurs. and because coach greg is the spurs headcoach, he is not new for this situation, and his experience in managing their players in crucial scenario is great. ^_^ peace OKC

hi techtikal. the crowd in oklahoma will definitely cheer their home team and it can get very loud in that stadium. definitely home court advantage will be a factor but against a very experienced san antonio spurs team, i think the advantage won't be that much. the spurs won't get rattled by the noisy and boisterous crowd. they'll settle down and start playing their game and eventually the spurs will take away the home court advantage of the thunder team when they are playing in their home court. just my 2 cents tech! cheers and happy mylotting!!!

I see OKC winning this if Russell Westbrook continues his dominance. He has matured from last year when Dallas managed to hold him to poor shooting and bad decisions. This year, he has grown so much that he and Durant are reasonably equals on their team. Durant is almost a constant at this point with his steady scoring and rebounding. Westbrook's play [offense and defense, with Tony Parker manning the Spurs] would determine the outcome of this series.

the game yesterday between spurs and OKC was so great. the spurs dominate the okc in game 1. they prove that their team is playing as one. manu ginobili is the player of the game. what will be the adjustment of the thunder after their game 1 defeat. we'll see on game 2. can thunder push it tied 1-1?

I think the Spurs will win this series and make it to the NBA Finals, but it will not be easy. I see this game going to game 7, where the Spurs will pull out the win, because of their Championship experience.

What's your opinion now, techtikal? Originally, I agreed with you. But now it seems that OKC pushes Spurs in an impasse. If the old dogs can't win today's game, they will roll and take more than 3 seasons to make it to finals. Let's just pray for them.

I feel the Spurs have to much talent and will beat out the youth of OKC unfortunately. I would like to see the Thunder win a title, though!

hahaha.. we have the same instinct that spurs will win, and end up to 4-2 favor of spurs. i am very excited for west final. how i wish sixers can defeat the boston in game 7. if this sixers win over boston in game 7, how far they will go in the east finals to miami heat.
